What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been sitting for about 10 years on a part-time basis and have recently decided to make it a full-time income. I love cats and since my last cat passed away I haven't been able to spend as much time with cats as I would like.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I guess it would be a little on the nose to say "the cats" are what I enjoy the most. However, that is the truth. I love cats and I love pet sitting.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I've had cats most of my life, but haven't had a cat for a few years now since my last cat passed away.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
If the client would like to meet either in person or on the phone prior to the start of the booking, a free meet and greet can be arranged. However, if the booking is the same day or the next day an in person visit won't be possible. Although, most likely we can at least do a phone visit. I do my best to follow the care instructions given to me by the client for food, litter cleaning and medication. I also like to know ahead of time of any health or behavior issues. I try to stay available for any questions or concerns before, during and after the booking. I understand hiring a sitter requires a lot of trust and vulnerability and I want to do my best to help my clients feel comfortable.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Using a buffer room system for entering and exiting the house when possible to prevent a cat slipping out. Doing my best to follow the care instructions given to me by the client. Moving slowly and calmly to gently get to know the cats temperament and state of mind, especially when we first meet.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Sitting during holidays is rarely a problem for me. Please reach out to me as soon as possible to book as holiday time slots can fill up quickly.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I like laser cat toys of all kinds and the toys on the end of a stick that hang by a string.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I try to move slowly and allow the cat to warm up to me at its own pace. This helps keep trust in the relationship as we move forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
