Cat Sitting in Shawnee, KS
Shy cats, playful cats, skeptical cats, I've seen them all and love them all just the same! I was part of an online veterinary technician prog... I've been professionally caring for pets since 2016 and I absolutely love visiting kitties in their own space. I was born and raised in Overland Park, moved around for awhile, spent nearly 10 years in Washington, DC, and moved to Shawnee in 2023 to restart my pet care business and be closer to family.
Shy cats, playful cats, skeptical cats, I've seen them all and love them all just the same! I was part of an online veterinary technician program through Colby College and did my practical work at a clinic in DC. Though not a medical professional, I've experienced many different scenarios. I've been trained in administering oral, ocular, and subcutaneous medications. I can administer insulin or even trim nails!
I have a master in public health, but knew immediately office life isn't for me. When not caring for let's, I enjoy needlework, cooking, and gardening- I even grow catnip!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been professionally cat sitting since 2016. I currently visit cats for short periods of time on their own home (no overnights), up to two visits per cat a day. I work best given at least a two hour time range for visits, but can adjust for medication needs.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Unfortunately I've never had any cats of my own (although my chihuahuas are quite cat like!). I've had many roommates with cats throughout the years, including one that gave birth in my apartment! I enjoy being an auntie to my brother's five cats and my sister's two cats.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I'm overly cautious when opening and closing doors, no one's getting out of the house or closed in a closet on my watch! I send at least one photo per visit and try to lay eyes on each cat each time. For extra shy, hiding kitties, I do my best to spot them without snooping around your home.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Holidays tend to be a busy time for pet care givers. Because of that, I never leave town for holidays! I do, however, limit my outings to once a day on major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day)

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Shawnee cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
