My love for cats runs very deep. I've had cats since I was a kid, and I love nothing more than to sit on the floor and earn a stubbor... Hi, my name is Karen! I have an adventurous spirit, and spent most of my 20s/early 30s traveling and working all over the world. A year and a half ago I slowed down my life, and I have been grateful to find the rewarding job of cat/house-sitting while figuring out how I want to spend the rest of my life.
My love for cats runs very deep. I've had cats since I was a kid, and I love nothing more than to sit on the floor and earn a stubborn cat's trust. My most recent cat was a long hair, so I am also excellent with a brush. A couple years ago I fostered four kittens while working on a ranch, and it was heaven! I also worked at a cat daycare right after college. I am comfortable administering eyedrops and medication.
I am neat, organized, and a proactive communicator. I also like to make sure you get pictures of your cat while you're away. I hope to hear from you soon!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love everything about cats! I enjoy snuggling with them, playing with them, and spamming my loved ones with pictures of them. I also love the way they will join in when I do yoga!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My most recent cat passed away a couple years ago. Her name was Lady Macbeth and she was a rescue. She had the most obnoxious meow you've ever heard, and I miss it very much.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I am quite patient with anxious or timid cats. I never try to force them to interact with me. I will work quietly nearby or even sing songs while I wait for them to get used to me.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
