Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have two cats of my own at home. Alpa is a sweet and outgoing tabby girl and Kodos is a playful and goofy tuxedo boy. I adopted them about a year apart and they quickly grew to be best friends, frequently playing and cuddling together. I feel so lucky that they are a part of my family!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to do a meet and greet before working with a new client. I want to learn more about the cat(s) and their likes and dislikes, and it's also important for me to see their environment and where the litter boxes, food dishes, water bowls, and any other important cat items are kept. This is also a good time to go over any additional questions or concerns, I want to do everything I can to help you and your cat(s) feel comfortable while you need to be apart!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have owned and worked with shy cats and am quite partial to them. I feel it is always an honor when a shy cat decides I am worthy of their affection :) Cats can often be unsettled by change, including their human going away for a few days. It can be a scary and unpredictable time for them! I try my best to be a calming and reassuring presence, not making loud noises or sudden movements that could spook them. Some shy cats may be enticed by a treat or toy, but others would rather hunker down. I will offer my glasses or hand for a shy cat to sniff and I will talk to them so they get used to the sound of my voice, but I won't force any interactions if they need space and want to be left alone.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
