-Any... I'm an opera singer, local freelancer, and lifelong cat lover. I have raised 3 kitties to a healthy old age, and I have a particular soft spot for senior cats. I have ample experience administering daily subcutaneous fluid therapy for cats with renal failure or kidney disease, and I have also given daily insulin injections to cats with diabetes. Safe to say, there's nothing I won't do for a cat, and there's no task too squeamish for me.

My career as a performer means that I learn fast, I follow directions, and I am great at reading personalities (purr-sonalities, as it were) and adapting to make people (and cats) feel at ease. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been a cat sitter for Meowtel for three years, and a cat mom my entire life! I have cared for cats of all ages from kittens to seniors.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love all the fun and different purr-sonalities I get to meet whenever I have a new kitty client :) I also love that I get to help fellow cat lovers feel like their loved ones are safe in the hands of someone who truly understands appreciates cats.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I am a cat mom to an all black kitty named Ozzie! Growing up, I had three cats who all lived to a ripe old age, and as such I have a special fondness for senior cats.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
At my first meet-and-greet at your home, I'll ask you to show me the basics such as where/what time/how much the kitties get fed, where is their litter box and how do you prefer for waste to be thrown away. If your cat needs any kind of special routine or medical care, I'll ask you to demonstrate that for me if you can. I then will ask about details about entering the home, such as where can I park my car, is there a security code or an alarm system, and I always ask if you prefer your lights to be left on or off. When I visit a new cat for the first time, I typically will feed them first, so their first memory of me involves food! Then I sit and we get to know each other with toys or treats :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Hyattsville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

This was my first experience with Meowtel. Laura was great! She was friendly and professional, one of my cats has asthma and uses an inhaler & needs oral medication as well. Laura was open to learning how to administer the inhaler and was already knowledgeable in administering oral medicine. She did a great job with everything and provided regular updates. I felt reassured about being away and leaving him in her care. I would definitely use her services again!
