I am a... Hi, I’m Nika! I have been around cats my entire life, and can’t imagine not having a cat companion. I have 2 cats of my own, and I have never met a cat that I didn’t like, or that didn’t like me. Every cat is different, with a unique personality, and it’s such a joy to get to know them!
I am a quiet person which sets cats at ease, especially when first meeting me. But make no mistake, I am also very playful and love to encourage a cat to get a little crazy and run around.
I am so excited to meet you and your kitty(s) and to give them loving and personalized care while you are away!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have two cats, Zita and Ozzy. They are different as can be, and endlessly entertaining. I take Zita on walks outside on a leash and harness (sometimes Ozzy comes along in a cat backpack too).
What is your favorite cat toy?
Sometimes it’s the simplest things that end up being a favorite toy. My cat Zita’s favorite toy is hair ties, and they are great for throwing long distance! I also am a fan of the small foam soccer balls, they’re perfect for cats because they’re soft and don’t make a lot of noise.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience patience patience! With a cat that is timid or anxious I take it very slow, always wait for them to come to me, and build up that trust. My girl Zita is a shelter cat and she was very timid when we first got her. I kept building up trust with her, letting her come to me, respecting her boundaries. It’s incredibly rewarding to make progress with a timid/anxious cat, and totally worth the time it takes.

Nika was wonderful! We have three cats with very different personalities, but they all seemed to warm up to her quickly. Even the shy one who rarely engages with visitors in our home. They often met her at the door and followed her around while she was here. She took care of all their needs, including play time, cuddles and clean up for the occasional mishap. We loved the daily, detailed reports and pictures of all 3 girls, so we could relax and enjoy our trip. We highly recommend Nika and will request her again next time we travel!

Nika was an incredible cat sitter for my two senior kitties while I was away. She's great with drop-in visits and kept me updated with photos and messages. One of my cats wasn't feeling well and threw up a few times, and Nika went above and beyond to clean it up and gave her extra attention and cuddles. It's so comforting to know my cats were in such caring and capable hands. I highly recommend her!

Nika is amazing! My maine coon Ming loves her dearly and watches in the window for her to show up and greets her at the door. Nika gets Ming to play with her toys and they chat a lot. I don't worry about Ming feeling lonely as she gets lots of pets, fresh food and a clean litter box twice a day. She is a happy cat. Thanks so much Nika!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Laurel cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
