I currently share my home with my two cats, Sunshine, who I’ve had for 11 wonderful years, and Pumpkin Spice Latte, who I’ve raised since she was a tiny kitten and is now 4 years old. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting on and off for the past 10 years, working with local pet care companies and caring for cats with a wide variety of personalities and needs. Throughout that time, I’ve expanded my knowledge by working in several different animal care settings, including veterinary clinics, animal shelters, and pet resorts. These experiences have allowed me to develop a well-rounded understanding of feline behavior, medical care, and low-stress handling techniques.🐈✨
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available for pet sitting during most holidays, including major holiday weekends when many sitters are booked. The only holiday I am unavailable for is Christmas Day. If you’re planning holiday travel, I recommend booking early to ensure availability!✨ if that should change will definitely let clients know!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When caring for timid or anxious cats, I always let them set the pace. I never force interactions or invade their space. Instead, I use my Fear Free training to create a calm, low-stress environment and allow them to approach me when they’re ready. I speak softly, move slowly, and pay attention to their body language so I can recognize signs of stress or discomfort. For cats that prefer to hide, I respect their boundaries while still ensuring they’re safe, eating, drinking, and using the litter box normally. I also try to keep their routine as consistent as possible because familiar routines can help anxious cats feel more secure. Whether a cat wants to play, receive gentle pets, or simply have a quiet companion sitting nearby, I tailor my approach to each individual cat’s needs. One of my favorite parts of cat sitting is earning the trust of shy cats. There’s nothing more✨

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Raleigh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
