I love cats, especially when they swipe a paw at my unsuspecting husband. I see that as they have my back. lol I have had many cats in my lifetime. I just wished they lived longer in good health. I like to feed good quality cat food, clean water always and a fresh litter box. I don't let my cats outside ever. My first fear when the doorbell rings is, where are the cats. I go outside usually, door does not stay open. Cars, neighborhood bullies (all species), and cats do not mix well. Thank you for your time, in this crazy world.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

These are the rules I follow in my own house with my own cats to keep them safe. - have all windows and doors locked at all times. I don't open doors unless I'm expecting something. If door is opened, person has to come in immediately or if I don't know them, I go outside immediately. No candles, no incense, no sprays. I have two cockatiels, two cats (two dogs just recently died, old age diseases), I feed all the squirrels, birds and a 125 gallon fish tank, so am aware of how harmful some things are in the air. I meet cats on their terms. No forcing myself on them, if not wanted. Cats are wonderful creatures. I can easily follow others ways of doing things.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I can do all holidays. I have aged out of having parental obligations. I have an open calendar during holidays and weekends.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I do not advance towards them. I sit quietly, maybe put a treat within 10 feet of them, and just sit, patiently and ignore them. They will come when they are ready. I would talk to cat, making cat attracting noises, bring out a toy and play with them..

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
