What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting new cats, getting to learn their personalities, and providing them comfort and enrichment while their parents are away. One of my favorite moments is when you finally win a shy cat over, and they’re excited to see you walk through the front door instead of hiding under the sofa when they hear the door open.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two- Leica and Luna. Leica is a gorgeous grey cat- one of the softest, and definitely the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. She’s very loving, clingy, and sensitive, and loves playing hide and seek in her tunnel. Luna is my younger tortie- she’s an absolute angel who loves an aggressive head butt and prefers chirping to meowing. I hope she never outgrows her chirps as they’re the cutest thing ever. They both enjoy bird and squirrel watching out of the back windows, and Luna especially enjoys keeping an eye on the neighborhood from the front window.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I will set up time to come by for a ~30 minute meet and greet- both with the parents and the cats to make sure we’re a good fit. I like to try and make sure the cats are at least a little familiar with me prior to the start of our sitting period, so they’re a little more comfortable with me, and also get to know the layout of the home, where to find food, treats, litter box and supplies, toy bins, carriers (just in case), and ensure I have contact info for the vet, and a close friend / neighbor.

Sharon was great with our kitten, who tends to get lonely and is very sweet and playful. We were so worried about leaving town for a few days but Sharon provided pictures, videos and most importantly was caring and kept us updated on how Nando was doing each visit in detail. Nando tends to hide toys and Sharon brought him more to play with together, which was so sweet and thoughtful. She also was patient with him and administered the medications we asked her to- her own experience with her cats was very reassuring. We would hire her again for checking in when we have to go away!

I cannot recommend Sharon enough! She watched my cat, Mia, for 5 days and did an incredible job. Mia can be a bit difficult to handle, but Sharon was so patient, kind, and attentive. She went above and beyond by sending me daily updates and pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Mia was well cared for and comfortable the entire time. I’m so grateful to have found Sharon and will definitely trust her again in the future!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.
