I have experience with shy, aggressive, clingy, and playful cats of all ages (including ... Hi, I’m Sharon and I’m very excited to meet your fur baby/babies! I’ve been cat sitting for friends and neighbors for the better part of 10 years and have decided to expand my sitting circle! I have two cats myself and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust and who will send you lots of photos while you’re apart!
I have experience with shy, aggressive, clingy, and playful cats of all ages (including kittens as young as 8 weeks). I have also administered meds such as pills, ointments, and drops. I’m very active in TNR and rescue work in the community as well, and love to spoil all of the kitties I meet every day whether on the streets with food and treats, or in friends and hopefully YOUR homes!
I’m mostly available for feedings early mornings and early evenings, but can be flexible to accommodate your cat’s schedule.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting new cats, getting to learn their personalities, and providing them comfort and enrichment while their parents are away. One of my favorite moments is when you finally win a shy cat over, and they’re excited to see you walk through the front door instead of hiding under the sofa when they hear the door open.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two- Leica and Luna. Leica is a gorgeous grey cat- one of the softest, and definitely the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. She’s very loving, clingy, and sensitive, and loves playing hide and seek in her tunnel. Luna is my younger tortie- she’s an absolute angel who loves an aggressive head butt and prefers chirping to meowing. I hope she never outgrows her chirps as they’re the cutest thing ever. They both enjoy bird and squirrel watching out of the back windows, and Luna especially enjoys keeping an eye on the neighborhood from the front window.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I will set up time to come by for a ~30 minute meet and greet- both with the parents and the cats to make sure we’re a good fit. I like to try and make sure the cats are at least a little familiar with me prior to the start of our sitting period, so they’re a little more comfortable with me, and also get to know the layout of the home, where to find food, treats, litter box and supplies, toy bins, carriers (just in case), and ensure I have contact info for the vet, and a close friend / neighbor.

Sharon went above and beyond for us and our 3 boys! We had just moved to the area and I didn’t know anyone and was stressing about who would take care of them while we went on a much needed trip to visit family over the holidays. She exceeded our hopes and our shy babies took to her almost immediately! I am an extremely anxious person and have never left kids or pets with anyone but family , and she eased our fears. I did not worry once while we were away and we could not be more grateful. She constantly kept us updated with pictures and videos. Sharon was great with our kitten, who tends to get lonely and is very sweet and playful. We were so worried about leaving town for a few days but Sharon provided pictures, videos and most importantly was caring and kept us updated on how Nando was doing each visit in detail. Nando tends to hide toys and Sharon brought him more to play with together, which was so sweet and thoughtful. She also was patient with him and administered the medications we asked her to- her own experience with her cats was very reassuring. We would hire her again for checking in when we have to go away!

Sharon was WONDERFUL! she is very friendly, kind and calm. My cat is skittish and nervous with strangers however the first time she met Sharon she walked right up to her. I cannot recommend Sharon enough! She watched my cat, Mia, for 5 days and did an incredible job. Mia can be a bit difficult to handle, but Sharon was so patient, kind, and attentive. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Jersey City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

we have chosen Sharon before and will again because she’s great and our sweet boy loves her, she will play with him and help out with any medications if needed but you can tell she likes cats and cares about them. She also shares pics and videos and will observe and report any odd behavior which is how you feel safer leaving your perfect beany baby home while you travel.
