I’m patient with cats on the shy side; boundaries are incredibly important to me and I promise to give your cats the same respect I’d want mine to receive. I am a professional communicator, so I will keep high-quality, detailed updates coming your way! I can also take care of more than just your cats. I am well-versed in plant care and mail collection too :)
If it’s accessible on foot or by public transit, I can make it there. I work remotely, so I have flexibility with when and where I catsit. One of the perks of this job is getting to explore other neighborhoods and see more of the city!
I’ve always grown up with cats, and I currently have three of my own. Dart is an 11 year old tuxedo lady, Pabst is an 3 year old brown tabby guy, and Dahlia is a 1 year old orange girl. Dart is the cuddly one; she hops on to my chest and purrs every night before I go to sleep. Pabst is so energetic, he loves to play fetch and chase wand toys. Dahlia walks around trilling all day, and will sprint around crazy-style. They all bring me so much joy, and make our house a home.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been catsitting with Meowtel for a little over three years. Before that, I have been the go-to pet sitter for my friends and neighbors. I seek to build relationships with both my clients and their humans 😁
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I want to help and make life easier! We all love our pets so much and it’s always stressful to leave them behind. When I’ve had people catsit well for me, it’s such a weight off of my shoulders. It allows me to be fully present in my travels, and I know my cats like making new friends. I want to do the same favor for my community, and getting to pet cats often is an AWESOME perk.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would recommend finding someone who communicates in a similar style to you. Some people like to handle hiring a catsitter like a one-time business transaction, and others want to find someone that they’d like to get to know and have back repeatedly. There’s no wrong way to approach it, but the process is smoother for everyone (cats included!) when communication styles are aligned.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have such a soft spot for shy kitties! When I’m hanging out with them, I meet them where they are. I act and move as a guest in their space, and let them approach me on their own time. I will always make sure to get eyes on every cat during each visit and send photos, even if they’re hiding! After a couple visits, they usually warm up to me. And if not, we coexist peacefully ✌️

Cailyn took very good care of our kitties while we were away out of the country for two weeks. She also took our female younger cat to the vet to be checked for a runny nose and also gave her antibiotics after she saw the vet. We were very happy with her and will definitely use Cailyn again when we travel without our kitties.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Astoria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Cailyn did a phenomenal job with my gremlins!! I was very worried for her because as a fellow cat sitter who has probably seen hundreds of cats, my cats are the neediest, loudest, and most destructive beings I know of. However, Cailyn tamed and took great care of the monsters!! She even engineered a method to safely feed these creatures, and successfully took cute pictures of them. I will definitely be booking her again if I have to leave them!!

Cailyn exceeded my expectations in watching my little junebug! I’m an anxious pet owner, so leaving for extended periods is hard for me but she was amazing at responding quickly and giving updates on arrival, some pictures and videos, and departure. She also asked some pretty great questions during our meet and greet that I wouldn’t have even thought of! She definitely helped ease my anxiety knowing she gave my furball a ton of love and was being attentive to my requests. I will definitely be hiring her to cat sit again on my next trip!
