Cat Sitting in Woodside, NY

Cat sitter since 2018 | Mom of 2 cats | Lifelong animal experience

Hi, I’m Sarah. I grew up on a farm in France, so animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, long before I started cat sitting.

At home I have two American Shorthairs, Moomoo and Pickles, which means I know exactly what it feels like to leave your babies with someone and hope everything goes smoothly. I don’t take that trust lightly.

I’ve been cat sitting since 2018 and I’m comfortable with all personalities — whether your cat is my best friend by Day 2 or strictly business for the entire trip 🐱 I let your cat set the pace and adjust to what makes them feel safest and comfortable in their space...

I’ve been cat sitting since 2018 and I’m comfortable with all personalities — whether your cat is my best friend by Day 2 or strictly business for the entire trip 🐱 I let your cat set the pace and adjust to what makes them feel safest and comfortable in their space.

Every visit includes:
🍽️ Feeding according to your exact routine — wet, dry, raw, supplements, whatever they need
💧 Fresh water every visit
🧹 Litter scooped and tidied
🐾 Playtime and affection on their terms
📸 An update with photos or videos so you can actually relax while you’re away

What I’m experienced with:
😻 All personalities: velcro cats, independent cats, and everything in between
😰 Anxious or shy cats who need extra patience and a calm presence
💉 Diabetic cats needing insulin injections
💊 Oral medications, like pills and liquids
🌿 Topical treatments and eye drops
🏠 Keeping your home secure and your cat safely indoors

After you book:
I’ll reach out to schedule a meet and greet before visits begin. It’s a low-pressure way for your cat to meet me on their space, and for me to learn their routine, personality, and any quirks I should know about.

Looking forward to meeting you and your cat!

Learn More About Sarah

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting since 2018 and have cared for cats of all personalities — from shy and anxious to boldly social. I’m comfortable with the full range of care: daily routines, pill and liquid medications, eye drops, and regular photo updates so you’re never left wondering how your cat is doing. I always take time to follow each cat’s specific routine and preferences, because consistency is what helps them feel calm and comfortable while you’re away. My own two cats mean I understand what it’s like to trust someone with a pet that’s truly family. I take that seriously.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do! I have two cats of my own — Moomoo, my 8-year-old, and Pickles, my 4-year-old. They’re a big part of why I love this work so much. Having cats myself means I genuinely understand the bond you have with yours, and I bring that same level of care to every sit.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always start with a meet and greet — it’s non-negotiable for me. It’s how I learn your cat’s routine, personality, and quirks: feeding schedule, favorite spots, comfort cues, and anything that might stress them out. I ask a lot of questions because the details matter. It’s also a chance for your cat to meet me on their own terms, in their own space, so the first real visit isn’t with a stranger. By the time I show up solo, we’ve already broken the ice. My goal is for both of you to feel completely comfortable before I ever walk in alone.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Your home is treated with the same care as my own. I always double-check that doors and windows are securely closed before leaving, keep entrances clear when coming and going, and never prop doors open. I'm attentive to anything that looks off — whether that's a cat hiding more than usual, not eating, or something in the environment that doesn't seem right — and I'll reach out to you right away rather than wait. You'll hear from me every visit, so you always know your cat and home are in good hands.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Generally yes! Holidays are usually one of my busiest times, so I’d recommend checking my calendar for availability — I keep it up to date. If you don’t see the dates you need, reach out anyway and I’ll do my best to make it work.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience is the whole job with a shy cat. I never force interaction. I let them set the pace entirely, whether that means ignoring me for the first few visits or slowly creeping closer to investigate. I'll sit quietly in their space, move calmly, and speak softly until they're ready. I also make sure their essentials are taken care of regardless of whether they come out to greet me: food, water, litter and a quick visual check so I know they're okay. Most cats come around more than their owners expect, and when they do, I always send a photo!

Sarah was incredible! She is a cat whisperer - my cat usually hides from strangers, but Sarah got him out of his shell almost immediately. She also gave great updates throughout the week and was so attentive to detail. It was a huge relief to know my cat was in such caring hands while I was away - I will definitely book Sarah again!

Sarah is excellent! My kitties love her, which I was suprised with my grumpy one who doesn’t mind anyone and stays on his chair or under the couch whenever someone visits, but with Sarah he engaged with her! I will definitely be booking with her again and do recommend her 100%.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Woodside cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
