Hi! My name is Cara and during the day I am an office manager. I love cats and am basically a cat myself (lol). I currently am between kitties but I have grown up with cats all my life. I am loving being a sitter with Meowtel- every cat I meet becomes another furry friend and fills my cat loving heart 😻

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting since Spring 2024 and I am LOVING it. I couldn’t ask for a better job. I love being around cats and hanging out with them never feels like work.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I have always connected quickly with all animals however cats are my favorite! I love making new furry friends, and getting in all the pets I can.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love all the cat toys! I will toss balls around, play with laser lights, bounce around the ball on the string, whichever toy the cat shows the most interest for.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When I meet a nervous cat, I allow the cat to have as much space as they need. I will let it get as close to me as it wants and let it sniff me before I try anything further. I also know that sometimes it takes multiple visits before a cat is comfortable with me. It took me over a year but I was able to get my friends cat from hiding when I came over to letting me pet, hold and love up on him!

Cara was amazing with my two old ladies! She got them moving and playing, sent lots of great pictures, and gave one of them her medicine, which can be tricky. I felt so reassured that they were in good hands while I was away. All the while, Cara was really communicative and respectful of my home. I highly recommend her! 😊

Cara is amazing! I have a quite skittish cat who seems to trust nobody but me. But less than 5 minutes into our preliminary meet/greet, my cat came up to her and even let Cara pet him, which was enough proof for me that she’s a cat whisperer. She provided updates as well as pictures every day. Highly recommend.

We typically use a different sitting service outside of Meowtel and were in a last-minute bind when they couldn't be available. Cara was very responsive, and worked to understand what we needed from a sitter. She was easy to schedule with, and asked great questions to understand our 2 kitties needs. She sent us pictures with every visit, along with a narrative on the visit itself. Our kitties are extremely shy, but one of them even made an appearance while we were gone. We had such a positive experience with Cara that she is going to be out go to now instead of the other place. Highly recommend.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
