What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been professionally cat sitting and working in feline professional care for over 4 years. I hold 2 years of experience doing vet tech assistant work for a high need cat shelter as well as shelter volunteer experience. I also managed a cat boarding facility for over 2 years. I offer services such as specialized meals, medication assistance, cleaning litter, playtime activities, and performing housesitting services!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I learned about cat body language and how to approach meeting and sitting new kitties while managing a cat boarding facility. My favorite part of working I with cats is getting to know them personally and gaining their trust 😻 it fills up my cup to be a good sitter for cats, watching them warm up and play with their toys genuinely puts a smile on my face! From headbutts and purring to simply playing~ I love working with cats!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting reservation was when I was sitting for a family with 6 cats! The reservation was for 14 days over thanksgiving holiday and I spent a good deal of each reservation getting cuddles, cleaning, and making specialized meals. Treat time was my favorite part of each day. It was definitely one for the books!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 2 kitties! Their names are Fig and Roan. Fig is a semi-feral girl and she is 2 years old. Her younger brother Roan just turned 1 year old. They are best friends and love to wrestle and cuddle.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Making a list of instructions for meal time, play time, and any particular quirks for sitting your cats in your home greatly helps sitters! Having an emergency vet contact on hand can help ensure feelings of safety for both the cat owner and sitter.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I enjoy doing meet and greets and asking plenty of food, litter, and playtime activity questions. I like to ensure the safety and comfort for the cat(s) as my #1 priority. I often check with new owners if there’s any household duties they would or wouldn’t like me to check on- such as mail retrieval, watering any plants, etc!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure all doors are closed while I am sitting. I go through my checklist and double check all owner’s and cat’s needs are met. I communicate via the Meowtel app while I am sitting. I enjoy taking pictures and videos of playtime with kitties as well as sending updates by the end of the reservation. I believe proper communication with owners helps ensure their fur babies’ safety and security!

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am usually available on Thanksgiving and most major holidays. Christmas to New Years availability varies by year and need from owners!

What is your favorite cat toy?

Wand toys with bird feathers are my favorite to play with my own cats and tend to be the easiest way to play with new cats I sit 😻

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I stay mindful of kitties who are scared and/or anxious, especially around new sitters. I try to make myself small, approach the kitties, depending on their body language, with gentleness and kindness. I often play mama cat/baby cat sounds on YouTube to help anxious kitties be at ease. Pheromone infusers can be helpful for very timid cats, and it’s something I talk to owners about during a meet and greet. I make sure to dress in thick clothing and stay mindful of kitties who may bite or scratch out of nervousness. Having access to churru treats or any of the kitties’ favorite treats that owners have on hand can help build trust with the cat(s). If a kitty takes a while to warm up to me, I make sure to complete my checklist and communicate any and all updates with their owners and try to keep my distance!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
