I have two of my own, five year old Wilson and two year old Hela.

I live with a roommate who also has a cat and we took care of numerous strays so I have taken care of many cats with many different personalities.

I have experience giving medication to cats including: topical, oral medication or pills, ear drops, eye drops, nose drops, inhaler & can do a temperature check.

I work during the week as an office administrator and spend most of my weekends lounging with my cats an... I love cats!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting through meowtel for over a year now, but before that had experience cat sitting for neighbors and friends for over the last decade.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy getting to meet new kitties and love getting to hear their different meows and get treated with their different affection.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always look around and make sure to set eyes on each cat in the house, usually I try to get a picture of every one, though some can be too quick for me. I make sure they have access to water and food and check to make sure their waste looks normal. Before leaving I check all entry points to ensure they are secure and double check the door is locked upon leaving.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes I am available most holidays in the Austin or Atlanta areas

What is your favorite cat toy?

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I approach them very softly and try to give them lots of space, if they seem to be receptive to my voice or demeanor I may bend down and see if the cat would like to approach me, if the cat makes it clear they do not I make sure to give the parents an update on the cat, while also respecting their space.

I can't say enough good things about Abbie! She did a fantastic job following all my pets' care instructions. She kept me updated and sent pictures during her visits. My boy is diabetic and needs insulin shots every 12 hours; she was able to give his medication at the right times successfully. My boy also took an immediate liking to her. When I got home, everything was clean and well taken care of for my boy and girl. I was so stressed out about using pet sitter services; I had heard a lot of mixed experiences from other websites and was unsure of what to expect. I contemplated boarding my boy or hiring a pet sitting company; luckily, I stumbled upon Meowtel and decided to take a chance. I do not exaggerate when I say it was the best decision I could have made. Stress for my pets' care during time away from home is a thing of the past. Thank you, Abbie!!!!

Abbie was incredible with our cats! 🥰 Our two boy cats bonded with her right away. We also have one very timid girl cat who tends to hide, but Abbie went out of her way to find her and talk to her every time she was over. 10-10, can't recommend her enough!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
