Cat Sitting in Houston, TX
During each visit, I provide fresh food and water, wash bowls when needed, scoop and tidy the litter box, and make sure everything is clean and comfortable. I spend the rest of the visit focused on what your cat enjoy... I’ve lived with cats for most of my adult life and currently share my home with four cats and a rabbit named Claire. I understand the full range of feline personalities, from the cat who greets you at the door to the one who watches from under the bed for the first few visits.
During each visit, I provide fresh food and water, wash bowls when needed, scoop and tidy the litter box, and make sure everything is clean and comfortable. I spend the rest of the visit focused on what your cat enjoys most—interactive play with a wand toy, brushing, lap time, or simply a calm presence nearby. I let each cat set the pace. I’ll also send photo updates after each visit so you can see how your cat is doing.
I pay close attention to safety by checking that no cats are accidentally shut behind doors, preventing escapes when entering and leaving your home, and doing a final visual headcount before I leave. My goal is for your cat to feel safe, respected, and well cared for while you’re away.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Four! Marble came from an apartment down the street and lives in her own world. Richard I sprang from kitty jail. Whisper yelled constantly when he was outside and hasn’t made a peep since I brought him indoors. Amore is simply the sweetest cat alive. I also have a rabbit named Claire, named after Clairemont, CA, from where I drove her home.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
We start with a meet-and-greet in your home. I want to meet your cats where they’re comfortable and have you walk me through the routine — food amounts and timing, where the litter and supplies live, which doors should stay open or closed, quirks I should know about, and anything I shouldn’t do. I ask for your vet’s info and an emergency contact, and I confirm the lock and entry details so there are no surprises on day one. Once visits start, I’ll send photos and a short note each time so you know how things are going. If anything seems off, you’ll hear from me right away rather than at the end of the trip.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I don’t chase or pull anyone out from under the bed. I sit on the floor, look away, and let them come to me — often that’s the third or fourth visit, and that’s fine. I talk quietly so they learn my voice, and feed on schedule so I become predictable. If a cat never wants contact, that’s a preference to respect, not a problem to fix. I still do a visual headcount before I leave so you know everyone is safe.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Houston cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
