My rescue focus is on the most vulnerable and demanding - babies, medical cases, and street cats. I am a neonatal kitten specialist and experienced in caring for cats with special/medical needs and seniors.I am great with shy, timid, and fearful/anxious cats also... My background is in animal rescue as a foster and volunteer for a high volume shelter as well as private rescue groups. After a decade of working with countless cats from unknown backgrounds, I have come to understand them and how to cater to their individual personalities and needs.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Working in shelters and rescues, I am used to seeing the consequences of irresponsible, abusive, or neglectful pet owners, so it's easy to become jaded. Getting to see the opposite end of that spectrum and working with cats that are in good homes with loving and responsible owners is definitely my favorite part of cat sitting. It's a whole different ballgame.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have three kitties of my own, Lucky, Talia, and Cilla, and I have a revolving door of foster kittens that keep my home lively. I raised Cilla, who was born blind, from the age of 3 weeks, and watching her overcome the challenges of blindness has been super cool and downright amazing. Just as rewarding has been watching Talia transition from being a street cat to a lap cat. Lucky is my big hunter and daily 4:30 AM alarm. They are a fun group.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience, reading body language, and respecting boundaries are key in building trust. Cats operate on their own time, so I allow them to decide when they are ready to be around or interact with me without being rushed.

She has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience with cats. I felt completely comfortable trusting her with my keys and leaving my babies under her care. She sent me pictures and updates for each cat. Since I have five cats, I left a daily checklist, she didn’t have to filled out but she kindly filled it out by hand to leave a detailed record of each day. I highly recommend her!

She even took it upon herself to refill my bird feeders outside, and the stray cat bowls I set out. Susan is absolutely amazing and I’ll 100% be booking with her again.

Susan was amazing, as always! She always goes above and beyond for my boys, along with the outside animals I feed. My playful boy loves her bag of tricks she brings, and my shy boy knows she will respect his space while still making sure he’s safe and happy. Susan even helped ensure the feral cats I feed had a nice warm spot to bunker during this last cold snap. I absolutely love Susan, and can’t recommend her highly enough!

Susan provided excellent service for my cat, Tiger. She didn't just take care of the minimum needs, she went out of her way to give Tiger a fun time. She brought toys and used a laser to give the cat some good exercise chasing it around. She sent photos and videos every visit, which helped minimize my worries about how the cat was doing. My trip was during the holidays, and having Susan available made a huge difference for me. When I met Susan I immediately felt like my cat would be taken care of adequately, but I couldn't have expected such wonderful care. Can't recommend Susan highly enough, she's an 11 on a 1 to 10 scale. Would give her 8 stars if the system would allow it.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- February 13-19: Presidents Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Houston cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Susan is AMAZING! We have a 14-year-old cat that requires insulin injections twice daily. We had not been on a vacation in years because we were so worried about leaving our cat with a sitter (we have had some pretty terrible experiences with pet sitters in the past). We were so fortunate to find Susan - she took wonderful care of our cat, and she kept us feeling reassured, too!
