✅Updates and photos - As a cat mom, I understand the anxiety that being separated from your furry ones can cause. Rest assured you will receive daily updates and adorable snapshots so you can see how your kitty is doing throughout your trip.

🐈What sets me apart:
🐾Experience - I’ve been a cat mom for 7 years now and a kitty foster parent for 2. Yoshi, our elderly cat, has had a whole myriad of health issues and I know well it’s hard to trust someone when your pet faces health challenges. I’m willing to do what you do, at the times you do, so your furry baby can miss you a little bit less.
🐾Calm and patience - I know some cats get suspicious when there is a stranger around. I’ll make sure to give them their space and time to get accustomed to having someone new taking care of them.
🐾Detail-oriented and trustworthy - I know sometimes a minor change can indicate an issue. I’ll pay attention to any changes of behavior, appetite or health while I’m taking care of your cat to ensure proper and timely attention if needed. I’ll arrive and leave at the agreed upon times and leave your place as I found. I’ll make sure your cat is as comfortable and as at home as it can be while you are away.

I would love the opportunity to care for your kitty while you travel. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I look forward to meeting you and your feline pal soon.

Learn More About Larissa

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two black kitties 🐈‍⬛ . Yoshi, who will be 7 years old this year, is a bundle of love. He is very shy, but once he warms up to you, he will seek you for pets and headbumps. He loves a blanket and his pink fish 🐠. Yoshi has had so many different health issues since we have adopted him. When he became 2, he started having asthma attacks. As we were not familiar with cat asthma then, it was very scary, but now it’s controlled through daily inhaler use. He’s had skin issues, bladder stones, UTIs - you name it. We helped him through each issue with the best vet care, diet, and medicines possible. Sony, our 9-month kitty, is the complete opposite of Yoshi. He is a hurricane - he is always running around, chasing his older brother, and playing around. We love them so much!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

My advice would be to tell the sitter exactly what you are looking for. Sitting has gone badly once for Yoshi, my older cat. The sitter has not fed him as we directed and did not notice he was not using the litter box as regularly as he should. We came home to a constipated cat and felt so guilty we went on a trip. It’s crucial to tell the sitter about your cat’s routine, feeding and litter box habits, and any medical history, so she is prepared as best as possible to deal with anything that comes up.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always make sure that your home is locked before leaving it and that your cats are confined in the space you designated. I find it is best practice to limit the space your cats can access while you are away, to avoid accidents. Maybe you forgot an open bag of cookies on the countertop or left a plate in the sink before leaving, and your cat may take advantage of the situation and end up getting sick. Having them in a smaller space, that they are used to and comfortable with, with access to fresh water and clean litter box at all times, is a safer practice and can mitigate unforeseen issues.

Larissa was amazing with our boys. She possesses very clear expertise in feline behavior, developing a connection with our shy babies on their terms. She shared appropriate concerns, engaged us to keep us updated, and made us extremely confident that our cats were in great hands. Absolutely would have Larissa help us in the future!

Larissa did an amazing job taking care of my cats. She even won over my very shy cat who is generally not interested in meeting new people. But Larissa was able to make quick friends with him. In addition to feeding she kept the lutter clean and brought in our mail. We are very grateful!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
