Cat Sitting in Alexandria, VA
My current cat, Cookie, is such a sweetheart. She adores head-butts and scritches from her people, and will ask for sofa time with me the minute I get home... I have been a cat lover for my entire life! I love how intuitive they are, and how each one has its own special personality. Meeting new cats has always been a pleasure for me, and whenever I visit friends, they always make sure to introduce me to the true head of the house!
My current cat, Cookie, is such a sweetheart. She adores head-butts and scritches from her people, and will ask for sofa time with me the minute I get home. I also help care for a stray cat from afar, and recently he has started allowing me to pet him!
Outside of hanging out with my cat, I am currently a college student and I also teach Sunday school. I love helping the children under my care grow, and I would love the opportunity to extend the same care and happiness to your cats!
I am based in Old Town, Alexandria, but am willing to travel! Since I go to college outside of the DMV, my availability is limited to summer, winter & major holidays like Thanksgiving.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting on Meowtel since May 2024! I have found it to be a joyful and meaningful experience to keep dozens of cats over the years happy and healthy, as well as getting to know their cat parents in the process.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have one little cat named Cookie, featured on my profile! She is 15 years old and such a sweetheart. It’s been great to get so close with her over the years.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Safety is my #1 priority. I make sure that all doors are locked when I come and when I go, and that nothing has been disturbed since my last visit.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! In fact, due to my schedule as a student, I am more available during holidays than not. Memorial Day Weekend, Thanksgiving & Christmas are some of my favorite times to sit, because I love giving people peace of mind while they're spending time with their family and friends!
What is your favorite cat toy?
I am a big fan of the classic "fish on a string" toy and laser pointers! It’s great to get cats active if they are in the mood for it :)
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
The way to any cat's heart is food and familiarity. Shy cats may not want hands-on petting, but they are still happy knowing that there is a person looking out for them. I've often seen cats warm up after 2-3 visits!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Alexandria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
