I’ve been a proud, experienced cat owner (and sitter off and on) for nearly 20 years. I consider myself as having the natural ability to interact and gain the trust of our feline friends fairly easily. Cats are very territorial, so while cat sitting I know that I am on their turf and do not try to force any interaction immediately until they become familiar with my scent and voice. I know that once they are ready, they will seek you out as I truly believe that cats find YOU, not the other way around. :)
I currently have a 6 year-old cat named Mandala (Mandi for short), whose trust I earned after several months of her hiding under my bed. Whether luring her out with treats or toys, she eventually came around and is now my little furry... Hello! I currently have a 6 year-old cat named Mandala (Mandi for short), whose trust I earned after several months of her hiding under my bed. Whether luring her out with treats or toys, she eventually came around and is now my little furry sidekick, following me all around my apartment! My previous cat, Squanto, lived until almost 18 years-old after being diabetic for over 7 years. I was able to administer his insulin shots and also gave him antibiotic shots post surgery for an infection he had as a geriatric cat.
A little bit about me…
I am a cat lover (obviously), who works full time as a professional graphic designer. My love for animals in general extends into my adhering to a vegan lifestyle, and I love to dabble in cooking plant-based dishes.
All that said, I would be so grateful to care of your furbaby feline(s) when the need arises. Please feel free reach out with any questions!
PLEASE NOTE:
** I prefer to have a meet and greet at least 5 days prior to drop-ins. Whether virtually or in-person, I require key/proper access codes in hand before heading to initial drop-in.
** If you live OUTSIDE of Alexandria/Annandale/Burke/Falls Church and are booking Mon-Thurs, please inquire first as my availability can be limited outside of those zones, especially during the week. Also, I will not be able to fulfill more than (2) 20 min or (2) 45 min drop-ins daily, due to my full-time job. Overnight availability is minimal during weekdays. Please inquire before booking as I will respond within an hour or two. Thanks in advance!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I just get lost in the kitty’s world when cat sitting and even caring for my own cat. I adore that they give unconditional love without words, whether it be while they are playing or allowing you to pet them. Plus, their purring is just the BEST! So therapeutic!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have a cat named Mandala (Mandi, for short). If you check out my bio you can find out more about her! She is my fur baby through and through!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When handling cats that are timid or anxious, you really have to be patient. I describe more of this in my bio, but you have to build trust and let them come to you in time.

Jennifer was great! she took care of my kitties on a somewhat last-minute request. She didn’t bat an eye I when I told her that our older kitty will poop on the carpet. She told me not to worry, and that she would take care of it, which she did. The cats seem to like her and she got some great photos of each to send while we were away. We will definitely choose Jennifer again next time we go out of town!

I booked for the first time with Jennifer and wasn’t disappointed. he came for a meet and greet and then was coming to feed the three cats and play for two evenings. Got timely texts and updates and photos. when we arrived home cats were happy to see us and Jennifer left a few treats and items as appreciation for the booking. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Alexandria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
