Cat Sitting in Madison, WI

Hi, I’m Dylan, a dedicated cat sitter with a deep respect for how unique every cat is.

I’m Fear Free Shelters certified and currently training to become a certified cat behavior consultant. I also volunteer weekly at the Madison Cat Project, where I work hands-on with cats of all temperaments, including shy, fearful, and under-socialized cats.

At home, I care for three senior cats, including one with hyperthyroidism and another with feline triaditis. Managing their care has given me real world experience with medication, monitoring subtle health changes, and creating low-stress routines that support long term wellbeing.

In addition to caring for my own cats, I’ve also provided cat sitting for foster parents through the Madison Cat Project...

In addition to caring for my own cats, I’ve also provided cat sitting for foster parents through the Madison Cat Project. This has included caring for cats with more complex needs, such as an adult cat with anxiety who required medication and support around litter box challenges, as well as high-energy kitten pairs that benefit from structured play and enrichment.

These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt to each cat’s needs. Whether that means building trust with a more sensitive cat or providing the stimulation and engagement that younger cats require.

I’ve been around cats my entire life, but what sets me apart is how intentionally I approach their care.

During each visit, I focus on:

* Feeding and fresh water
* Litter box cleaning and hygiene
* Enrichment and play tailored to your cat’s personality
* Careful observation for any changes in behavior or health

I understand that many cats are sensitive to change, so I prioritize calm, predictable interactions and respect their boundaries. Whether your cat is social and playful or more reserved, I meet them where they are.

You’ll also receive regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away.

If you’re looking for someone who will treat your cat with patience, attention, and genuine understanding, I’d love to help.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve cared for cats my entire life and have several years of hands-on experience caring for my own senior cats, including cats with medical and behavioral needs. I also volunteer weekly at Madison Cat Project, where I work with cats of many temperaments, and I’ve provided cat sitting for foster guardians, including caring for an anxious adult cat requiring medication and support with litter box issues, as well as energetic kittens.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Spending my time getting to know cats, of course! I love meeting new feline friends and hope to leave a positive impression on all that I come across.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 3 senior kitties named Gojira, Eek, and Tuna. After spending over a decade with each of them, I can truly say cats are complex individuals just like us.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Once you book a reservation, I will reach out to arrange a meet & greet. It offers the opportunity to go over the details while introducing me to your cat(s).

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I prioritize calm, attentive care and closely follow each cat’s routine and the client’s instructions. I’m careful with doors, windows, feeding, medications, and monitoring behavior for any signs of stress or illness. I also keep the home tidy, secure, and respectful while providing regular updates so clients feel informed and confident while they’re away.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I will be available during most holidays and my time blocks are scheduled out well in advance. Taking new clients!

What is your favorite cat toy?

Have you ever heard of the Cat Dancer? It’s manufactured locally, right here in Wisconsin! My cats, Eek & Tuna, just go crazy for it!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I approach timid or anxious cats with patience, calm body language, and respect for their boundaries. I never force interaction and instead let the cat set the pace while using gentle routines, play, food, and positive associations to build trust. My experience volunteering with under-socialized cats at Madison Cat Project has taught me how important consistency and low-stress handling are for helping sensitive cats feel safe.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Madison cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
