What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love the idea of having interactions with cats other than my own, selfishly this might also satisfy my desire to acquire more. All cats are naturally interesting and each is a unique personality and the opportunity to get to know those personalities is a delightful opportunity.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I watched my parents cats every summer when they went on their vacation. I remember vividly one night when I got three of the cats chasing me around the middle of the house with a feather on a fishing pole. It’s the little interactions that can make the best memories.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I’m currently down to 2, this is the least number of cats I’ve had in my life since around 2000. I have a tiny longhaired B&W girl named Seven and a giant mackerel tabby boy named Mister. I’m always happy to get home and see them

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Will ensure doors/windows are not left open and are locked when leaving. Ask the owner if they have an escape artist who wants to get out so I can be prepared when entering. Will make sure there is nothing accessible to pets that might harm them, like making sure any cleaning supplies are out of reach. I also know small objects and loose strings can pose threats. I have a very observant nature and I’m always studying my surroundings.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Every holiday except Valentines and New Year’s Eve. I am a server and those are mandatory holidays that we are required to work. New Year’s Day I’m usually not able to make it out of the house until after 2pm. But every other holiday is free.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I really have 3 with two sometimes combined. Love sparkle balls, my vet(she is a traveling vet)often uses them to lure the reluctant patients out from under things. My cats go nuts for a sparkle ball. I love fishing rods and really love when there is a sparkle ball on the line. Lastly I have a family friend who makes the most amazing catnip toys and crinkle toys.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Slow approach, calming tone, singing softly, presenting the back of an open hand and letting the cat dictate the interaction. In extreme cases I will often use the owners pillow or present my glasses to be sniffed(I learned that from Jackson Galaxy)

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
