Hi there, I’m Abby — the human behind Harbor & Whisker, where every cat is treated like they’re home, even when you’re away. At home, I’m supervised by my fluffy tabby, Link, who takes his role as emotional support critic very seriously. He is being joined shortly by my boyfriend’s cats, a tiny diva named Twix and a chunky void named CNZ (pronounced like sneeze). I grew up with many kitties, so being around cats has always been second nature to me — I speak fluent “slow blink” and respect the sacred rules of cardboard boxes.
I hold a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and currently work overnight shifts, which gives me flexible daytime availability for visits. Through Harbor & Whisker, my goal is simple: calm, attentive care that keeps your cat’s routine steady and your mind at ease. I love spending time with cats in whatever way suits them best — whether that’s playtime, cuddles, space, or just a calm, reassuring presence.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been a cat sitter ever since I was around middle school age. I sat for neighbors and family for many years and then discovered Meowtel after I moved to Milwaukee full time! I’ve been a sitter on Meowtel for around 4 years now and I love it! I’ve cat sat for homes with one, two and more kitties and even used to sit for a kitty colony when I was younger. Needless to say, I’ve been a cat lover through and through my whole life! 🐈
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My cat’s name is Link. He is a 7 year old medium hair rescue from MADACC. He follows me everywhere in the house because he’s a mamas boy. ❤️ I am very excited to adopt my boyfriend’s two kitties as we move in together. Twix is a sassy and talkative dilute tortie. CNZ (pronounced like sneeze) is a large, cuddly black cat. 🖤
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I’ve worked with my fair share of shy kitties. Patience is key. I usually will spend a lot of time low or on the floor so I’m not a tall, scary presence. It’s best to let them come to you in their time. It also helps if you have treats as a bribe! I’ve had lots of luck as a cat-whisperer of shy babies. Some kitties will still prefer to watch from afar and that’s okay! They will still be checked up on, fed, watered and monitored to make sure they’re A-Ok.

Abby did a wonderful job of taking care of my cat, who is very fearful of visitors. With patience and understanding Abby managed to coax Peanut out from her hiding place for some pets. And I was very grateful for the way Abby kept me informed about how Peanut was doing. Overall a very positive experience for both Peanut and me!

Abby was amazing as our kitty sitter. I'm a pretty anxious cat mom and get stressed about leaving them. Abby communicated with us regularly, sent lots of photos and videos, and our rather shy girl cat loved her. Abby even left us a sweet Christmas card and gifts for the kitties. Abby was so great with my four cats. They were not stressed out when I got home. When one of my cats kept breaking into the cabinets with the treat she found a good hiding spot. I got daily photos and updates. my plants got watered too. she was great.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Milwaukee cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!

Abby is a wonderful cat sitter. My Rocky just had dental extractions a few days before I left and I was so nervous to leave her. Abby and Rocky bonded right away and she was able to give her medication and sent me photos of her eating happily.
