What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have several years of experience cat sitting, the most long-term cat sitting job being for a woman who traveled a lot for work where I would live in her home and take care of her 2 cats. I enjoyed the long-term sit because it allowed me to create bonds with her pets.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love the positive mental health benefits of being around and taking care of cats. I also love knowing I’m helping them feel comfortable while their owner is away.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I was flown out to take care of a cat in another state. This was my favorite cat-sit job because the owner’s cat was a munchkin cat! I had never seen a munchkin cat before in person and he was so sweet.

Genavie is a great cat sitter! I was so worried about my old man cat, Ziggy, so I set up an extra visit and Genavie was happy to do that. She communicates detailed info and sends photos and videos so I don’t have to worry about my cats while we are away. I highly recommend her!

Genavie is so great with our “boys!” She keeps their routine, plays with them, gives them their pills and treats and lots of petting and love. I get photos and/or a video at every visit so I can see how they’re doing, and I don’t worry at all when we are out of town. Genavie is also flexible and responds timely if there are changes to the routine. She’s the best!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
