I know how important consistency is to cats and owners alike... Hi! My name is El and I have many years of experience caring for cats. I have 2 beautiful & chaotic cats of my own, Sol and Luna, who I raised from 6 weeks old. I’m a cat behavior nerd and always try to stay attuned to a kitty’s needs, giving them space, play, treats, and love as they need. I’ll treat your babies with the same attention and care as I treat my own!
I know how important consistency is to cats and owners alike. I’ll follow your instructions to the tee, provide cute photo and video updates, and be respectful of your home. I’m comfortable administering medication (oral, ointment, eye drops), prescription food, and enrichment activities. I’m also comfortable with multi-cat households - the more the merrier 😸!
Your booking includes a complimentary meet and greet where I meet you and your cat and learn about their routines and preferences. I have a flexible schedule so I’m willing to work with you on timing and ensure your kitty gets everything they need. I’d be honored to care for them. ☺️

I love getting to know different cats, learning about their personalities and preferences, and providing them comfort, play, and treats while their parents are away.
What is your favorite cat toy?
A feather wand is my go-to! Cats love feathers and the wand allows me to keep the movements unpredictable and maintain a safe distance between us while they do their swatting and bunny kicking :)
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
One of my cats has anxiety and takes a while to get comfortable around new people, so I understand timid cats. I approach the kitty slowly, let them come to me, and use treats to gain their trust. I give them their space while feeding them, talking to them and playing with them from a distance. I trust that they will get more comfortable over time, and provide the same level of care as I would with any other cat.

El did such an amazing job cat sitting for my 2 cats for 2 weeks while I was in Asia! They sent me photos every day of the kitties and gave me updates on how the kitties were doing. My boy cat, Joey, was being naughty and kept knocking over his automatic food dispenser, in hopes to get more food. El dealt with this every day and came up with the genius idea to duct tape the top of the container so the food wouldn’t keep spilling out when Joey would knock it over. The fact alone that El was so graceful in dealing with this (daily) problem from Joey was very helpful. El is also very kind and I enjoyed getting updates from them and laughing about the food dispenser situation. Definitely booking them again for my next trip — I highly recommend!

I am very grateful to have been able to book El through Meowtel. Luckily, she was available over the Christmas holiday and was very responsive and responsible. I could tell when we did our meet and greet that Chanel would be very safe with El coming to check on her. El was polite, considerate, and very good at taking care of my cat; often, going above and beyond cleaning up after her and giving her attention. She sent my boyfriend and I updates daily when she would come by. Also sending videos/pictures of her so we could have peace of mind while we were away. All thanks to El, Chanel & the house were in good shape when we returned. I am very appreciative with her skills and excellent communication and am hopeful she will be available next time I need help with my girl. Thank you El!!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Diego cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
