Cat Sitting in San Francisco, CA

I fell in love with cats as a young girl, and aside from the years I spent in undergrad / grad school, have always had a least one feline friend in my home. Nothing in the world quite warms the soul like the rumbling purr of a happy cat.

I currently share my home with a 9-year old rescue house floof and act as bonus parent to two 12-year old Persian brothers. Previously cat mom to a quirky but distinguished "Old Man Cat" that I watched over from age 3 mos to +19 years. I also raised a tiny feral fuzzy I found on a backpacking trip from age 3 weeks to +9 years...

Previously cat mom to a quirky but distinguished "Old Man Cat" that I watched over from age 3 mos to +19 years. I also raised a tiny feral fuzzy I found on a backpacking trip from age 3 weeks to +9 years.

I have experience administering various medications and treatments orally, topically, and by injection. I also have experience handling cats with aggression issues, as well as intestinal, neurological, vision, and anxiety issues. I am detail oriented and extremely patient, and understand that your beloved feline is more than just a pet. Your cat's safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priority.

I grew up in Montana but have spent the last 23 years calling San Francisco my home. When I'm not loving on my cat (or someone else's), I'm a senior designer at a boutique residential architectural firm by day and a runner in my spare time. I service most of San Francisco but am based in Diamond Heights.

Learn More About Eva

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for friends & family since the early 2000's, and as a Meowtel Cat Sitter since 2023.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have one 9-year old rescue house floof named Mr. Pickles aka "Meeps", but I also spend a great deal of time with two 12-year old Persian brothers named Monty and George.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I feel cats fall into one (or two) of three "toy" categories: bug hunters, critter hunters, or bird hunters. For bug hunters, anything small & krinkly is great, even, a small piece of folded up white paper can be a fabulous bug hunter toy. For critter hunters, the wormy or snake on a wand toys are great, as are your typical fabric mice. For bird hunters, I think Da Bird toys are the best!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I find the best way to put timid or anxious kitties at ease is to make myself small (i.e. get down on the ground), make small, slow, & deliberate movements, and let them sniff around me for a bit. Then I go about my business and try not to engage with them too directly, i.e. let them approach me.

Huge thanks to Eva for taking care of my little 6-month old Nala over the holidays. Eva was very flexible with some schedule changes and communicative over the course of my holiday. This was my first time leaving Nala for more than one day overnight, so I was stressed! When I came home from 2.5 weeks away, Nala was cheery as ever. Thanks for giving me peace of mind and taking great care of my little fur bb :)

Had a great experience with Eva! She provided the appropriate amount of communication (regular photos and updates) to me and I felt confident leaving our cats in her hands for long periods of time. Would have her back in the future!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

San Francisco cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $40.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
