I'm Anke | Cat Sitting in San Jose, CA

Hi there! I’m Anke, your friendly neighborhood cat sitter and aspiring cat whisperer. If cats could leave reviews, I’d probably have a 5-paw rating by now. I’m here to make sure your furry overlord is happy, healthy, and completely spoiled while you’re away. What Makes Me the Cat’s Meow? Medication Ninja: Is your cat a master of hiding pills in the most unpredictable places? Challenge accepted. I’ve got the skills, patience, and stealthy moves to make medication time as smooth as a freshly groomed coat. Litter Box Warrior: While most people avoid litter boxes like they’re cursed, I embrace the challenge. Deep-cleaning litter boxes is my oddly satisfying superpower—because no cat deserves a stinky throne. Cat Translator: Whether your cat is giving me the side-eye, demanding food at 3 a.m., or casually knocking stuff off the cou...

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy most about cat sitting the unique opportunity to connect with each cat's individual personality. Whether it's earning the trust of a shy cat, engaging in playful antics with an energetic one, or simply providing comfort to a senior feline, I find it incredibly rewarding to meet their needs and make them feel safe and happy in their home. I love observing their quirky behaviors, from their curious explorations to their contented purrs, and knowing that I’m contributing to their well-being. Being a reliable, caring presence for both the cat and their owner is deeply fulfilling.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two amazing kitties called Lucky and Tulie, who have been with me for eight years. They have both been adopted by our local Humane Society, and they are truly dog personalities in cat bodies - they follow me around my home whenever I am there, and usually expect me at my door when I come home from work. They are family members in every sense of the word, and I would treat any cat who I sit for just like I want my two to be treated in my absence.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

What I Need to Know About Your Cat To give your kitty the best care possible, please share the following details with me: Daily Routine Feeding schedule, portion sizes, and type of food (wet, dry, or a mix). Treat preferences and any limits. Usual playtime routines or favorite toys. Typical nap spots and times. Health Information Any medical conditions or allergies. Medications your cat is taking, including dosage and timing. Veterinary contact information (name, number, and address). Signs to watch for if your cat feels unwell. Personality & Preferences Is your cat shy, outgoing, or somewhere in between? Do they enjoy being held or prefer space? Favorite games, toys, or activities. Places they like (or dislike) being petted. Are they vocal about their needs? Behavior & Habits Any quirks, like scratching furniture or knocking over water bowls. Do they tend to hide when meeting new people? Are there any off-limits areas in your home they’re prone to explore? Litter Box Details How often do they typically use the litter box? What type of litter

Frequently Asked Questions

San Jose cat sitting rates will vary based on the pet sitter's experience and expertise, but the average price for a cat sitter is $41.00. Prices will also depend on how long your cat needs company for, whether that be a drop-in visit or overnight stay in your home. Meowtel sitters offer 20, 45, and 60-minute drop-in visits that allow for fully tailored care for your kitties. Your caregiver may also need to charge a little more if they have to travel far, so we'll match you with the best options which are close by.

Every Meowtel cat sitter has been thoroughly vetted, background-checked, and is insured through Meowtel on eligible reservations via our Meowtel Promise. To ensure total peace of mind while you're away, every Meowtel reservation comes with a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can have full confidence in your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress for your kitties. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend that you book daily visits with your sitter to keep your cats in their routine and to help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each Meowtel cat sitting visit will include the whole 9 yards: feeding, refreshing the water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, as well as any special requests you may have. We know every kitty is different and that's why we offer tailored, in-home services since cats don't do well outside their own homes. Plus, every reservation comes with a free Meet & Greet so you can meet your sitter before you leave to ensure it will be a purrfect fit.
