I’m a project manager so I’m a pro at ... Hi, I’m Mericyn. I’ve grown up with cats my entire life and currently have two cats that I raised from kittens. I understand how scary it can be for you to leave your loved ones at home. Each cat has their own set of needs and I will do everything I can to meet those needs while you are away.
I’m a project manager so I’m a pro at communicating and will make sure that you are looped in after each visit. I have more flexibility before 8:30am and after 3:00pm to care for your loved ones. You can rest easy knowing I’ll take care of play time, food, the litter box, etc. I’m excited and grateful to spend time caring for each and every cat as if they were my own.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to meet and take care of new cats. I have two cats and can understand the anxiety of leaving them. Each cat has their own personality and it’s a treat to get to spend time with them. I want pet owners to know that their loved ones are being cared for so they can enjoy their time away without worrying.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My cats are Loki and Millie. Loki is a sweet troublemaker. He loves to play, be picked up, and most importantly be fed wet food. Millie is a bit more shy with strangers but is also a sweetie. They love to sit on the balcony and hang out with me while I work.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It depends on the cat, but the bottom line is to meet them where they are. I’m a stranger in their house. Small things can include sitting calmly in an open space waiting for them to come to me, offering treats or play at a distance. I often suggest leaving a piece of my clothing at the house so that they can get used to my smell.

I could not recommend Mericyn more! After only one day of knowing my timid, suspicious, and fast foster kitty, Mericyn had to confine him due to surprise apartment maintenance. She understood his limits, kept great communication with me, and spent extra time with my kitty to make sure he got into the confined space safely. I will be using Mericyn’s services again!

Mericyn was a phenomenal catsitter! If we could give her 10 Stars we would. She was extremely consistent and we could tell she really did LOVE our cats. We got beautiful photos of our cats daily and put our hearts at ease while we were on vacation. It was also wonderful to come home to a house that did not smell like a litter box. She's our "go-to" gal for any future pet sitting 💓

Mericyn did a great job with my 2 cats and kept them fed and their litter boxes clean. One of them even came out to observe her a few times which he never does around strangers. She also gave consistent and detailed updates about how the visits went and if anything significant happened.

Mericyn was a life saver for me and my kitties while I was on vacation! she provided amazing updates and I could tell she really cared about my cats and gave them all the love 💕 She was reliable and trustworthy and sent me tons of pictures and even described my kitties behavior and assured me they were softening up to her and how playful they were! I also felt like my house was safe and cared for when she was here and she also helped with my packages that were delivered while I was gone. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

San Jose cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $40.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
