What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to meet and take care of new cats. I have two cats and can understand the anxiety of leaving them. Each cat has their own personality and it’s a treat to get to spend time with them. I want pet owners to know that their loved ones are being cared for so they can enjoy their time away without worrying.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cats are Loki and Millie. Loki is a sweet troublemaker. He loves to play, be picked up, and most importantly be fed wet food. Millie is a bit more shy with strangers but is also a sweetie. They love to sit on the balcony and hang out with me while I work.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

It depends on the cat, but the bottom line is to meet them where they are. I’m a stranger in their house. Small things can include sitting calmly in an open space waiting for them to come to me, offering treats or play at a distance. I often suggest leaving a piece of my clothing at the house so that they can get used to my smell.

I could not recommend Mericyn more! After only one day of knowing my timid, suspicious, and fast foster kitty, Mericyn had to confine him due to surprise apartment maintenance. She understood his limits, kept great communication with me, and spent extra time with my kitty to make sure he got into the confined space safely. I will be using Mericyn’s services again!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
