Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My sister and I currently share our home with three cats of our own: Amon (4), Veles (1), and Cleopatra (7 months). Recently our senior kitty Blair (18) crossed the rainbow bridge. She was deeply loved and we miss her every day. To help us through the loss, we began fostering and now volunteer with Stray No More LA. Our current fosters are bonded brothers Alfie and Justin, both 4 years old. Caring for cats has truly been one of the biggest blessings in my life, and I feel incredibly grateful to be able to continue giving them love, comfort, and care whenever I can.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
My biggest advice is to find a sitter who understands that cats thrive on routine and comfort in their own environment. Look for someone who is patient, respectful of your cat’s personality, and willing to take the time to earn their trust. I also recommend scheduling a meet-and-greet beforehand and sharing details about your cat’s routine, preferences, and quirks. The more a sitter knows, the more comfortable and stress-free the experience will be for both you and your cat.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Timid or nervous cats are actually very common, and I always approach them with patience and respect for their boundaries. I never force interaction and instead allow the cat to come to me at their own pace. Sometimes that means sitting quietly in the same room, speaking softly, or offering treats or toys to build trust. Even if a cat prefers to observe from a distance, I make sure they still feel safe and comfortable while maintaining their routine. Over time many cats become more curious and relaxed, but my priority is always making sure they feel secure and stress-free in their own home. I treat every cat in my care with the same patience, attention, and love I give my own.

We couldn't have been more pleased! We are always anxious when leaving our cat. Cassandra was so professional and delightful. She was very responsive to our initial inquiries and came to our house ahead of time to meet us and our cat. She put us at complete ease, something important given she was staying at our home. She truly loves felines and respected our request for periodic photographic updates. Our guy didn't seem to miss us a bit. She even brought him catnip! She was also the perfect house guest. We will definitely hire her again.

Cassie was so good with my cats — the photos she took twice a day all showed my cats happy and relaxed. I’ve never seen anyone make my cats that comfortable before. It made my trip more enjoyable knowing that my babies were well-cared for (also less guilty for leaving them). It is not always easy to leave pets behind, especially three cats with their own personalities and routines, but Cassandra made the whole experience stress-free. She was reliable, attentive, and very thoughtful with every detail. She kept us updated, made sure they were comfortable, well-fed, and cared for, and treated them like they were her own. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Signal Hill cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $35.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
