Hello! Iā€™m Connor. I own two torties named Junie and Marnie, who are friends-in-progress. I am very gentle with cats, but I make sure to give them lots of attention and love once they trust me enough to do so. I love both dogs and cats, but gaining a catā€™s trust has always felt more special to me. When I catsit, I make sure the cat knows that they are in charge of their space. I try not to be too noisy or abrupt and let them come to me. I always make sure they are fed on time and have clean litter boxes as much as possible. If the cats want to socialize, I will sit with them and give them attention for as long as they like. If they want their alone time, I give them space, but stay available for them. My cat Junie is quite social and expresses herself in chirps and chortles. When I hear her vocalize, I always acknowledge her and invite her over to me regardless of what I am doing. I am currently a masterā€™s student and I love to read, so I am typically quite content with a cat on my lap or sitting to my side.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy the feeling of gaining a catā€™s trust and having them feel comfortable around me. Even if the cat isnā€™t interacting with me, they make very good company when they are in the same room.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cats are named Junie and Marnie. Junie is social and loves being rubbed and scratched. She also loves sitting on my laptop or my book when she wants attention. Marnie is more recently adopted and is still getting comfortable in the house. She is not quite as social but she makes a lot of noise when itā€™s time for food.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I take note of all the doors and windows and make sure they are secured. Since it is not my home, I donā€™t use anything I have been authorized to, so nothing dangerous gets interacted with. I also find out from the owners beforehand what behaviors the cats have and/or what parts of the house may be cause for concern and what to watch out for (cat likes to eat things, garage door doesnā€™t close well, cat tries to scratch furniture, etc.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
