As a volunteer there, I assisted in adoption events, cared for the cats at the local Petsmart, and spent countless hours at their sanctuary, helping socialize the shy and spicy kitties. As of July 2022, I am now volunteering for Kitten Rescue doing the same type of thing. You may spot me caring for the adoptable cats at the Stevenson Ranch Petsmart. Feel free to come say hello!
I am skilled in administering insulin, giving oral medications, applying topical ointments, and dispensing eye/ear drops. Additionally, I hold certification in animal CPR/First-Aid from the Red Cross and am privately insured through Pet Sitters Associates.
When it comes to your precious kitties, I would be delighted to care for them. I believe I possess a unique ability to connect and communicate with felines by understanding their individual moods and needs. You could say I am fluent in "Meow". I enjoy the challenge of coaxing the shy ones out of their shell, yet I also know when to give them space and respect their boundaries. I will ensure your cats receive pampering and top-notch care, all safely within the comfort of their own home.
In my leisure time I enjoy reading, writing, taking photographs(check out my gallery to see some of my favorite cat photos), cooking, listening to music, going to concerts, hiking, hula hooping, and dancing. I am in my late 40's and have no human children, only my four feline companions. The pandemic turned me into an avid bird watcher/critter observer. My friends started calling me Snow White when I befriended all the local wildlife. While cats hold a special place in my heart, I cherish and respect all creatures regardless of size. ❤️
In terms of Covid precautions, I am currently vaccinated and boosted. I am flexible and willing to adhere to any safety measures you prefer. My commitment to hygiene includes regular handwashing between jobs and carrying hand sanitizer at all times.
I am located in Valencia, CA serving most of the Santa Clarita Valley. If you are in my extended area (Castaic/Agua Dulce) services may be limited. I prefer a minimum of 48 hours notice to book, but feel free to message for last minute requests. If possible, I will try to accommodate you.
P.S. - Here at Meowtel we charge based on time alone. There is no extra "per cat" upcharge. However, it is recommended that if you have 3+ cats, you go with at least the 45-minute visit.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Technically I have been cat sitting for friends and family for decades, however that doesn't necessarily translate into professional experience. My first jobs came in 2016, while volunteering at a cat rescue. By the Summer of 2018, pet sitting had become my primary job and I now considered myself a true professional in the field. In 2021, I began focusing on cats.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
It's tough to pick a favorite, so I will go with a notable one that I get excited about whenever it comes up. It is the biggest cat household I have ever taken on. The number of cats varies per booking. It has been as low as 12 and as high as 17. All of the cats are (or were) local community cats. The client has taken it upon herself to T'n'R the entire neighborhood. Some cats are forever feral so they stay outside. The rest she finds homes for or keeps them herself. The last booking there was 13 total. 4 upstairs, 7 downstairs, and 2 outside. It's a lot of work but I love every minute of it.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! I have four. "Sir and the Nuggets". The Nuggets were a surprise. Sir is my senior rescue boy. As of 2025 he is approximately 14 years old. I adopted him in 2016. In early 2019, I lost my soulmate cat. He was almost 19. My plan was to adopt another older cat when I felt ready. Six months later, the Universe dropped three kittens into my life. Ralphie, Crackle, and Pippi were born in my Mom's backyard. I took on the responsibility of getting them ready for adoption. They got fixed and had their last round of shots just before Covid shut the world down. They got comfortable in my home (and my heart) so now I have four cats. 🤷🏻♀️😹 It happens. Momma cat (Lucy) is fixed and living her best life indoors at my Mom's house. She sure picked the right backyard!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
For the best possible care, you want to hire a professional that is a true cat person. If you are reading this, you are already in the right place. Most pet sitters are dog focused. Cats are complex creatures and you want somebody that understands their individual moods and needs. Bonus points if your sitter is also privately insured and certified in Pet First-Aid/CPR. Make sure to meet the sitter first and pay close attention to how they interact with your cats. Trust your gut.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Prior to booking, I will happily answer any questions via messenger. Once a reservation comes through, I reach out to set up a meet and greet. There, I will ask the cat parents to take me through their entire routine. Most clients agree to leave written or printed instructions for me. If not, I will take notes myself. I always ask where the carriers are(in case of emergency) and for local emergency contacts. I reassure the clients that I will send pics/updates during each visit. If the cat is shy, I wait to approach until the end. For the social cats, I introduce myself immediately.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
It starts the moment you open the door. I enter cautiously to ensure a cat does not attempt to sneak out. I keep a large plastic lid in my car as a barrier if the cats are known door dashers. For the shy guys I find out ahead of time where they may be hiding and make sure I get eyes on each and every cat during my visits. I closely monitor their food/water intake as well as litter box activity, keeping a keen eye out for any sudden changes or unusual activity. For clients that choose to keep a key on file with me, I have a lockbox at home where I store them when not currently in use. ***Due to the recent wildfires, I am discussing, updating, and implementing solid emergency plans for each household.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I sure am! Having no human children (and family scattered all over the country) means zero pressure to celebrate holidays on the actual day. My Mom and I always celebrate a little bit before or just after the actual holiday.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love wand toys. They are a great way to exercise your kitty and stimulate their minds. They also work well for shy cats since you can keep a distance between you and the cat. A wand toy is usually the trick to luring a shy cat out from under or behind something.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Each cat is unique. I never immediately try to pet a shy/timid cat. I gauge their level of anxiety and will reach out a hand to let them sniff. If they sniff it, we are moving forward. If they do not, they need more space and time. The key is patience and letting the cat decide. I will never force my energy onto a cat that is not ready to receive it. For the extremely anxious cats, I give them physical space but spend the visit in the same room talking to them. I don't tiptoe around. I simply act like my natural self. If you are tense and nervous, the cats will pick up on that.

Susan is our "forever friend". She takes such good care of our cats. One of our cats needed some medicine. We were out of town. Susan came, gave the cat the medicine, gave both of our cats treats, and played with them, sent us photos, and made us feel so relieved. We couldn't be happier. 10/10

Susan from Meowtel went above and beyond for us and our kitties, we cannot thank her enough!!! As always she provides excellent communication through text messages, pictures and videos- daily. This time unfortunately we were invaded by ants and they found the cat food bowls. Susan cleaned up the ants and prepared a moat in a casserole dish with the dry food bowl in the middle and with water surrounding the bowl so our cats can have clean dry food throughout the day. Susan was and is always very caring and thoughtful with our four cats. This visit our most shy girl, Cookie, let Susan pet her which is so wonderful to hear! Cookie is very cautious and doesn’t let just anyone touch her! I would highly recommend Susan to all my friends and family!!

Susan Edwards is fantastic. First of all, at our Meet 'n Greet, she got down on the floor, eye-level with our cat Pearl, and Pearl came right out to her--as if she were a long-lost friend. Pearl loved her. Susan speaks "cat", and she was able to get an up-close photo of Pearl that was as good as a professional photograph. I've never gotten one like that! Her photos were perfect. We received updates at each of her visits, & great videos, with commentary! Susan made sure everything was clean & neat before we returned home. Not only did she do everything we asked, she even cleaned the floor around the litter boxes, which I hadn't mentioned. When we got home, Pearl seemed relaxed, happy, & un-stressed. I could tell that Susan loves what she does, and she is very good at it. She is the best pet-sitter that we have had. And, having lived in several cities or towns in Iowa, Texas, & now California, we have gone through several of them. Your kitty will be in excellent hands with Susan.

Susan was fantastic! I was gone on a family vacation for 12 days, and Susan made sure my cats were safe and sound!! She notified me of some issues with the AirBNB that I have been staying at, which could have been a MAJOR safety issue for my cats with security issues with the door. I was able to notify the landlord and get the door fixed, thanks to Susan recognizing the issue. This was above and beyond care for my cats. Susan went above and beyond with fantastic communication and I am so glad that I booked with her and used Meowtel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Valencia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $34.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

When you have a trustworthy sitter, it's hard when you lose them to a move across the country. You wonder if you will find someone that can be amazing as they were. Well, thankfully, we found Susan. I loved her updates, pictures and videos. I have a very anxious senior cat and Susan one her over right away. She was dependable and responsible and has good instincts. We will definitely use her again.

We couldn’t be happier with Susan! She took amazing care of our cat Ciri while we were away. Ciri is very special to us, and Susan made sure she was comfortable, well-fed, and loved the entire time. She sent us regular updates and photos, which really helped us relax and enjoy our time away knowing Ciri was in such good hands. When we came back, Ciri was calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. Susan, was simply fantastic. The Hughes fire broke out while I was gone and she kept my mind and he is taking care of my cats while I was out of town on business. I can’t recommend her highly enough she’s conscientious and a great cat friend. She was able to get my shy cat out of her shell in a couple of days my previous cat sit it took weeks . I would definitely book her again and I can’t recommend her enough.

Susan is a god send for this neurotic cat parent and our cats with separation anxiety. She went above and beyond to make us feel our fur babies were doing well while we were away and was even flexible enough to add extra visits at our request, with no hesitation. Susan fixed the feeder again, and took videos and photos of our cats. It's so calming knowing that she will be there. She messaged me and when I didn't respond, she reached out via WhatsApp because I was out of the country. She wanted to be sure I got the updates. She is exceptional!

Our A/C was broken and we had someone setup portable units in our home. Susan came through and moved the food and water to a cooler location, emptied the condensation buckets, and played with our cats. She is an asset. Just the peace of mind that she was home is priceless. We love Susan! 10/10

Susan truly went above & beyond in every way for not only my cats, but myself whilst I was away! I’m an extremely present and somewhat neurotic cat parent– but from the initial meet-and-greet, my heart was immediately set at ease by her warm, patient, and enthusiastic presence around my family and my cats. She accommodated all of their needs and temperaments, even braving the brisk winter air to snuggle and feed our outdoor cat as well as the inside ones. And she was even willing to do some smaller tasks like watering plants, feeding our backyard birds, and bringing in mail every day which was so much appreciated. Along with her incredible professionalism, she provided us with the deep comfort of knowing that our animals were being cared for by someone who truly cares. And that care was evident in every interaction we had with her, and every photo we received while away (she’s also a PHENOMENAL pet photographer, I’m even framing some of the casual ‘update’ shots she sent over!) I’ve put off traveling longer distances and durations for quite a while on account of some upsetting experiences we’ve had with previous cat sitters, but after meeting Susan, I’ll never be concerned about that again. Everything was not only in flawless condition, but perfectly clean and my cats seemed so happy, well fed, and well taken care of upon our return. I trust her implicitly with the safety of my home and dearest loved ones, and would recommend her services (and pet photos!) to anyone seeking that reassurance.

This was our very first time using Meowtell, or a professional cat sitter for that matter - usually friends or family could help us out - but on this occasion, my husband and I would be leaving town for eight days and knew that we'd need more focused care this time. We have several cats, a couple with special dietary needs and in general, our setup is somewhat high maintenance. To make a very long and emotional story short - one of our kitties was sick and getting worse, and Susan's help and care was above & beyond and utterly invaluable. Obligations kept us away, but Susan kept us well informed and stocked with photos & videos, recommended remedies we could order online and she immediately administered them, and when matters came to a head, she arranged her personal schedule to take our sick kitty to the vet, which I am so incredibly grateful for. We couldn't have known when we initially hired Susan to kitty sit, but had we not had her help during this time, I shudder to think what could have happened to our little angel. She is through and through an animal lover and guardian, that I would trust with our babies any and every time. I cannot thank her enough for what she did for us! Thank you, Susan!

My four cats were well taken care of by Susan, who is so sweet and wonderful to my babies!! I love to hear her talk to my kitties while making a video and simultaneously giving them affection… My very shy senior, Cheeto, is calm with her and the rambunctious kitties act like she is their new best friend! I am so thankful for Susan’s tender love and care and I will always ask Meowtel for her to help us when we need to leave town!

I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my cats. She is obviously very experienced in dealing with cats and all of their widely varied personalities and quirks. One of my cats is extremely bonded with me and usually ignores everyone else. She’s the only person who has ever been able to get him to interact with her when I’m not there. When I’ve had other sitters he’ll spend the majority of his time in my bedroom, but she sent me pics and videos of him all over the house, looking totally relaxed, while she was there. It was such a relief to see him acting normally while I was gone. Susan will definitely be my “go-to” sitter in the future.

Listen... Susan is the real deal! She is a cat lady through and through (in the best sense of the phrase!). She immediately built relationships with my cats on the first meet and greet. They seemed comfortable with her right away. She asked great questions showing that she was thinking about all the details (ie. where the cat carriers were in case of emergency). Each day that she came over, she sent videos and/or pictures of all the kitties. She was always punctual. She sent updates and asked questions as needed. One of my cats required oral medication. This was the main reason we hired a cat sitter rather than have a friend or family member just feed them while we were gone. Susan had no trouble giving the medication! It was such a relief and we could really enjoy our vacation knowing the kitties were expertly cared for. She even took pictures of all the water bowls and litter boxes on the last day so we could see how she left everything. The kitties seemed calm and happy while she was there. We really appreciate her kindness! She is really sweet and personable. 100% recommend!

I appreciated Susan’s updates on my kitties. She is definitely a cat whisperer! The pictures and videos demonstrated her care and joy for all felines. In addition, she followed my specific feeding instructions and made sure everything was the way I left it. Bonding with my furry babies was another goal Susan made sure she achieved. one of our naughty kitties opened the lid to the automatic feeder. Susan noticed and sent pics. We decided to let them free feed until we came back home. if not for Susan we would’ve never known and it would’ve been a mess. Sure they were a bit chubbier when we came home. but in all fairness so were we! hahaha.

We couldn’t be more pleased with how well Susan did with our boys! It was so nice to know they were in good hands and that we would receive pictures and updates daily. Susan was received by our two kitties like a long lost friend, and they instantly warmed up to her. Susan was an Angel sent to our home! She was wonderful with my four cats and took care of all their needs. So happy that my senior cat, Cheeto was comfortable with her when he usually hides when strangers come over. I have beautiful pictures and videos of how relaxed and cute they were with her. Our one cat had a separation anxiety issue when we were gone, but no longer. We can leave in confidence, knowing they are in such good hands. Meowtel is lucky to have such a wonderful caretaker.
