What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been volunteering at Almost Home Adoptions cat sanctuary since 2021, where I care for over 100 cats and kittens once a week. I also assist with adoption applications and serve as a point-of-contact for all cat related questions. While I don’t own any cats due to lease restrictions, this allows me more time to care for yours! I have 8 years of sitting experience, a 100% response rate, and typically respond in under an hour. Many of my repeat pet parents can speak to my commitment for providing top-notch care for your cat(s)!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is the opportunity to build unique connections with each cat. It’s especially rewarding to gain the trust of a shy cat, watching them gradually feel more comfortable and enjoy our time together. I love seeing how each cat’s personality unfolds, whether they’re seeking affection or just need a quiet presence. Building these relationships allows me to create a positive, stress-free environment where cats feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. It's incredibly fulfilling to know I’m providing them with companionship and care in my client's place.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For a high-energy, friendly cat, I engage in interactive play with feather wands and laser pointers with treats to keep them active and stimulated. For a shy, introverted cat, I spend quiet time together, offer gentle play, and ensure they have safe spaces to retreat. I've found it helpful to tailor my activities to the cat's behavior for the most positive experience.

Matison is super responsive and clear with communications and was great with both my cats. One is super shy and she was great with a gentle intro on his terms. I am home recovering from surgery so I was present during the visit and did not need photos. Great attention to detail. Would recommend.

this really should be a 5 star review but the system won't let me change!! Matison was prompt to reply on our initial correspondence and came to our home to meet our kitty and learn her routine. During her sit, Matison sent a photo each day which is much appreciated! Matison left the house as she found it and kitty was content. We have already booked Matison again!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
