What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Well, first and foremost, I love cats - They are what I enjoy most about cat sitting! Second, I enjoy meeting other people who love cats and share their lives with cats. I like to hear about their kitties personalities and talents and challenges and recommendations. I like the learning that comes from every single pet parent that I meet!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I am currently sharing my life with a big ole mackerel tabby tomcat named Rupert. He loves to play hide and seek, chase all his feathered toys, and drink from every faucet in the house. I work from home full time and he logs a lot of hours on my desk next to me, providing companionship and entertainment to me throughout my workday. His spotted belly is my "go to place" when I am feeling stressed and need a happy break!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Make sure you know what your expectations are and clearly spell them out to your sitter before or at the Meet & Greet. Not just the major categories like food, litter, and personalities/quirks of your kitties, but all the housekeepinghings like your home's access, parking, neighborhood idiosyncracies, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I have a pretty comprehensive check list of things I want to walk through at every Meet & Greet and want to be able to see the space and meet the kitties/observe their behavior around their family. I like to physically test drive things like the keys and door locks, litter robots, food portions, etc. to gain the look and feel of them. I also want to encourage folks to voice their concerns and ask any questions that might put their mind at ease for my taking care of their little ones while they are away.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am available during the holidays and will be happy to provide a measure of comfort to you if you must travel without your kitties - Just reach out!

What is your favorite cat toy?

I have always gotten a good response from kitties with a telescoping feather on a fishpole. I can wield it around playing everything from a dead birdie to a fluttering butterfly to a good ole game of hide and seek - all prove to be irresistble to the feline hunter spirit in a kitty!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

There is no great secret that I know of other than patience. You need to make sure you make enough noise when you arrive so they don't sleep through your visit! If they make visual contact and are food motivated, maybe it is the quiet offer of a treat down at their level. No sudden movement.. Always in a quiet reassuring voice... If they do not appear during the visit, then recording and monitoring the food bowls and litterbox become even more important!

She provides very detailed reports of her visits and is even available for live troubleshooting if needed (litter box, automatic feeder snafus, etc). Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
