What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat-sitting for six years. I often work with folks who have senior kitties who need quite a few medications, or are even just extremely particular about their routines! (I quickly learned how to get the bathtub faucet dripping at the *exact* tempo for a cat’s drinking water as the pressure fluctuated each day 😂)

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I do! They are two brothers, Lenny and Glen, who I adopted in 2020 from the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society. Lenny is incredibly outgoing and absolutely obsessed with playtime, cuddles, and mealtime, while Glen is a shy little guy who mostly enjoys birdwatching or napping in sunbeams.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

It’s such a joy to work with shy cats; even if they tend to hide at first, I’ve found that slowly taking care of the usual cat-sitting tasks, followed by quietly spending time near them with a few of their favorite toys or treats can help them build trust with me. I’ve had a few clients who were shocked I sent along photos of their cats playing or hanging out with me, since they’d usually just be hiding under the bed for other sitters.

Tom is such a kind and most genuine human, we are beyond lucky he was available to sit our high energy kitty, Annabelle. Tom’s response time is lightening fast and he made a meet-and-greet work almost immediately too! His energy is so calming and kind, our very high energy kitty was eager to meet him and they instantly clicked. Tom let Annabelle greet him, got to know her, gave her so much attention and time, I doubt she even realized her parents were gone. Tom is also an incredible professional. In-app and SMS photos + videos were sent each day, he troubleshot our WiFi when it went down, and he didn’t forget a single detail in caring for Annabelle. I am so grateful for Tom. If you need a professional, trustworthy, kind human for your pets, they don’t make them any better! We will absolutely repeat our Meowtel bookings with Tom and I’m sure Annabelle is just as excited as we are!

My cat Panda was getting up there in years and needed lots of medications and special care, I always felt like Tom did a wonderful job of keeping him happy while I was traveling. Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
