At home we have 6 indoor cats and care for a feral colony in Orange County, FL.

I have an awesome day job that allows me to travel widely in the Central Florida area. When I can, I make myself available for cat-sitting with select clients.

Having had so many special kitties over the years I’ve missed out on some important family occasions, work trips, etc. Now that my current Cat Coven is a bit lower maintenance I feel called to support where I can. We’re all stuck on this crazy rock hurtling in space just trying to get by so why not give somebody an extra hand if you can?!

Each visit, I’ll interact with every pet, send a ridiculous amount of photos, clean litter boxes, and feed according to their diets. Everything will be handled in-App, and I will provide updates on behavior, mood, litter box habits, and appetite. More importantly, I’ll get to know each cat and learn how they prefer to be approached, spoken to, and played with.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Sallie and Kendrick live with family friends. No one in the family is willing to cat sit because Kendrick has a propensity for violence. I’ve found long sleeves, patience, and a soft demeanor work wonders. “Kendrick Time” has become a great little escape for me and he now greets me at the door with a leg rub. He and I read together while Sallie sleeps nearby. He has grown accustomed to my presence and is an entirely different little guy when I am over.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

The current Cat Coven is led by feral-turned “still feral” unapproachable gremlin, Edith Bouvier. Now 10 years old, she has been witness to quite a big home: Milea, Miso, Moby, Jack, Lila, Bill Murray, and Screaming Mimi. Sadly she’s lost those friends over the years, but a foster fail brought her a new batch of minions! She has (begrudgingly) welcomed Fern, Wolfie, Sailor, Winnie, and Francie into her cottage. Their days are spent on the screened porch when weather allows, bird-watching, squirrel-teasing, and keeping an eye on those pesky ferals in the neighborhood that dad is always trying to save. They LOVE cat tv on YouTube, playing with tail-toys, fuzzy mice (but dad removes all the tails), balls, crinkly things, and each other. I don’t love the idea of indoor/outdoor kitties but I know some are too stubborn to accept domesticated life. All of mine are 100% inside cats.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My ❤️ belongs to Little Edie, aka Edith Bouvier. She was brought to us as a kitten by the neighboorhood Tom (neutered). My 1st foster-fail, she never really outgrew her feral tendencies. After a few failed attempts at “kitty Zoloft” I came to terms w/ living w/ an indoor feral. I’ll sit near her & we will have long chats (they seem a bit one-sided) & I’ll get slow blinks & purring & kneading, & all the things that a cat does when they are happy. Those times have become so special to me that I, too, have accepted our arrangement. Just being NEAR a cat may be enough to get them to trust you. When I have to give Edie meds, cut her nails, or groom her, she reluctantly allows me to “trap” her - once she is in the lap getting her “spa treatment” she turns to mush.

Matt was really good with my kitty and all my other animals. He is very knowledgeable about cats and made sure to spend time and give health updates with my elderly kitty while I was away which helped me relax more on vacation.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Orlando cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
