My favorite interactions with cats are playing with a sting on a stick, and when they choose to cuddle up to me.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
In the past 3 months, I have pet and house sit for a hospitalized family member for nearly 3 weeks, cat sit for a friend while she was at a work conference out of state for a week, and dropped in daily to feed 4 cats (plus other minor chores like bringing in packages) for another friend. I've also dropped in daily for a different friend with 6 cats for evening meals, occasional pilling, and attention. I grew up on a farm with many indoor and outdoor cats, so I have also assisted in removing spay sutures.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy earning the trust of shy cats, playing with those with higher energy, and cuddling with those who appreciate a warm, quiet session.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For cats that are timid or anxious, I prefer to have a meet and greet before my services are needed so that the owner can introduce me if possible, or if not, at least introduce my scent in a calm environment so that the cat at least can understand that I am a known entity, and not a presence that upsets the owner. As a rule, I allow cats to come to me, so - barring necessary medical needs - I do not chase down cats, except to confirm their presence where they are expected to be.

I highly recommend Jae as a Cat sitter. I hired Jae to care for my cat while I was away on a trip. He'd never been without me for more than two days before, and I was very nervous to leave him behind. My cat is very particular about his food and treats, and has a whole routine that he prefers to stick to. Jae followed the instructions I left and was attentive to his needs. She kept me updated on my cat's behavior, spent time playing with him, and sent me pictures and videos throughout each day. Jae is patient, caring, and good with animals. It was clear that she genuinely cared about my cat and had no problem following instructions that would seem odd without context, because cats are weird and particular about everything. I would absolutely trust her to care for him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
