What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I love doing meet and greets! Getting to know clients and their kitties is one of the best parts of the job! These give you a chance to ask each other questions and figure out expectations. I especially prefer getting the chance to learn what is most important to the cat parent where their cat is involved! Once getting to know each other, I love to meet the cat while the parent is there. That way you can see a bit more of their purrsonality in a more comfortable environment. From there I love taking photos and sending updates while checking in with the cats, so that the parents never feel like they are too far away!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I personally will lock all doors behind me, and keep other doors inside the house the way that I found them. If doors are closed it is usually for a reason, as experienced with my own kitties! I also like to do a walkthrough when I arrive and before I leave to make sure there is nothing dangerous for them in their reach, such as twist ties or small bits of plastic. I believe communication is key, and will openly discuss any concerns I have regarding the safety of the cats in my care. I do not post photos of the cats I am sitting to ensure no part of a client's home is visible to untrusted eyes.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have a cat at home that is very fractious and have spent a lot of time helping scared cats. I find it extremely helpful to let them choose their own adventure, and I do not force any interaction unless safety is a concern. I like to offer snacks and enrichment to show them that I am a friend to them, and have found that many of them enjoy soft conversations. If a cat doesn't want to come out, that is okay by me! We can just be friends from afar!

She did a meet and greet with us before our reservation so we could go over instructions and personalities in person and everyone vibed off the bat! She sent updates and photos with every visit and was super responsive in any communication. Highly recommend her and would book with her again!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

The Meowtel Promise & Satisfaction Guarantee

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our Meowtel Protection Plan in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
