I am avai... I’ve always had pets (dogs, cats, turtles, gerbils, geckos, even had a snake & tarantula!) and I have been involved with rescue for 20+ years. I am owned by a senior rescue pit mix named Diego. I LOVE to cat sit as well as care for feral/community cats, and volunteer for rescues. I build cat shelters so ferals can stay out of the elements and put food and water out for them too.
I am available short or long term, drop-ins, weekends, & holidays. Even if your cat doesn’t love strangers I will sit quietly each visit so they can get used to my presence and know they aren’t alone.
I am able to administer medications orally as well as by injection. I am retired so can be super flexible and open to finding what works best for your loved one(s). Meet & greets are complimentary.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been a cat mom in the past with as many as 3 cats and 3 dogs in my home at once and it made for so much fun! I currently have a dog that is a cat hater 😢 So I started cat sitting a few years ago to get my cat lovins. I also feed neighborhood/feral cats, squirrels, birds, and the random raccoon or possum 💞
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Seeing all the different personalities and catitudes 😻 I like trying a variety of activities to entice kitty engagement. If a kitty is shy I will just sit quietly and occasionally speak to them, ask how they’re doing or tell them what a good kitty they are. My goal is to provide the best care so the cat feels loved and cared for AND for the pawrents to have peace of mind while away.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I had one client that had 2 special needs senior cats (medications). They have both since passed 💔 and I miss them terribly. One of them was named Turtle and he had been rescued from a severely abusive environment so was extremely skittish around new people and he needed insulin. I was always super quiet and gentle while giving him his shots and meds and always spoke softly telling him what a good boy he was and he had a mom and dad that loved him so much. After lots of time (maybe a year?) he let me pick him up and hold him! I could have cried! I did have my video recording and sent it to his mom. To this day I pull that video up and watch how happy he made me. RIH Turtle and Emma 🐾💞
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
A complimentary meet & greet where we can all meet face to face. Walk thru approved areas, see where food, water, litter, and play areas are located. I like a client who provides a detailed list of expectations, verbal &/or in writing are great!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Always use extra caution when opening doors, watching for any signs that may appear out of the ordinary, and staying in contact with the parents during the reservation.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. I love that I am in a place in life that I can be available for short notice, vacations, holidays.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Any toy that will allow me to interact with a cat is my favorite! The wand and the laser are 2 favorites.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I just sit quietly and let them come to me if they want 🐾 I will speak occasionally to tell them they are a good kitty or ask if they’re doing ok.

Deanna was amazing from the moment I requested a reservation through the end of our vacation. She was happy to do in-home visits to meet our cats and learn about all the medications our elderly cat requires, including twice-daily insulin injections; she returned multiple times to allow them to warm up to her and verify that they would respond to her with us out of the house. While we were away from home, Deanna sent updates during every visit including photos and videos of each cat. She made sure to spend some time with each of them during every visit. I wholeheartedly recommend Deanna. We will absolutely be using her services again.

She loves our crew of four kitties and she makes sure all the necessary duties like administration of meds, food, and litter boxes are done each visit. But she also goes above and beyond — trouble shooting when our electric plug for our litter robot went out and resetting the gfci button. She gets to know each of the kitties’ personalities and they love taking turns getting TLC on her lap or playing with her! She is extremely responsible and we trusted her completely when we took a multiple week trip. It was the longest trip we had taken and we were so grateful for her care.

She sorted out our cat dynamics so one could eat his medication in peace and she administered an inhaler to our other cat with medical needs. She always gave me a detailed update about checking feeders, water fountains and litter boxes. Even our shyest kitty came out for pets from Deanna! Our friendliest kitty got lots of lap time! I didn’t worry about the pets for a second while I was gone because I knew Deanna was giving them the best TLC! I would recommend Deanna to everyone!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Indianapolis cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

DeDe takes care of my diabetic cat Turtle on a frequent basis. He is very scared of strangers and takes an extremely long time to trust new people. DeDe has always been wonderfully gentle with him, let him run away after his shots, and sends updates despite his very hard to photograph self.
