Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have five black cats! Martha and Luigi are siblings and are 13 years old. Luigi was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2023 and had his leg amputated in order to cure him. Jade is a bashful cat that I rescued from a large TNR case. She has nerve paralysis in one of her front legs. While she isn’t the most social cat, she is better suited indoors. Baby is another cat from TNR who is my slow-motion chonk. She is pretty much a sloth in a cat body. Harriet is the latest addition and again, from a TNR case. She lost colon motility due to an unknown injury but after 3 months of trial and error care, she has recovered.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Carefully observe how any potential cat sitter reacts when they meet your cats. If they are genuinely excited to meet your cat(s), then they will make a great caregiver.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I follow all instructions, even if I need to read them over and over. I will contact any guardian if I am unsure about a situation or have any questions or concerns.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am! I have spent many holidays doing volunteer Trap-Neuter-Return of community cats.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I do not cross cat boundaries. I remain calm and quiet but let them know that I am safe. Being at their level (even if it means laying on the ground) and giving slow blinks shows a timid cat that I am not a threat. The use of interactive play allows a connection between myself and the cat while building the cat’s confidence. If food motivated, treats are helpful to build trust.

one of our cats had an issue right before we left that required antibiotics, Rachel was great about the sudden change in the care she’d be giving to our cat. Our cat was not fond of getting meds but Rachel handled it very well. She also did great at problem solving how to handle our gluttonous cat that steals everyone else’s food. The cats are usually mad when we come home but they weren’t at all this time because Rachel took good care of them!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
