Cat Sitting in Rockville, MD
I have a 5yr old black cat, Donut, a 2 yr old grey calico Fifi, and a 1 yr old kitten Noodle who are all lovely girls.
Donut came from a high kill shelter in Florida to Kensington. I had gone to the pet store with my friend to get a hamster for her but instead I got distracted by the cats and one thing led to another and I came home with Donut.
Fifi on the other hand I was told was shy and not willing to make friends with people... I'm available all weekends, federal holidays, and before 7am and after 5pm on weekdays.
I have a 5yr old black cat, Donut, a 2 yr old grey calico Fifi, and a 1 yr old kitten Noodle who are all lovely girls.
Donut came from a high kill shelter in Florida to Kensington. I had gone to the pet store with my friend to get a hamster for her but instead I got distracted by the cats and one thing led to another and I came home with Donut.
Fifi on the other hand I was told was shy and not willing to make friends with people. For all that, she climbed immediately on my shoulder when I first saw her and would not stop purring or get down so I ended up bringing her home too! Turned out she actually had a fever! Since I nursed her back to health she has not been able to stop chatting.
Noodle I scooped from a farm litter in NC on a weekend trip and she's a chaos magnet! She loves playing with her sisters or by herself.
Donut has unfortunately been on antihistamines which makes me fairly experienced with giving oral medication to your babies. I also can administer insulin or medication as needed. I'm comfortable with brushing or caring for them as needed as well and please let me know if they need any additional attention.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have had cats of my own for the last 5 years and I have also pet sat for my friends.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Cats are a joy to be around! I love how fun, chaotic and loving they can be.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a 5-year-old black cat named Donut and a 7-month-old kitten named Fifi.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I arrange for a virtual or an in-person meeting before the actual sitting to make sure that it is a good fit and also because I want to make sure I am fully aware of all the ways they need to be taken care of.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I'm available most holidays!
What is your favorite cat toy?
A wand! Love something that gets them to run around. Donut and I play a fair bit of fetch and Fifi loves her wand.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Like people animals also really need their space so when a cat is anxious or timid you have to give them the liberty of choosing when and how they approach you. In the meantime I try to make sure that they are comfortable as can be.

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Rockville cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
