My name is Lauren and Im an experienced cat sitter with over 5 years cat sitting experience, and 19 years of cat ownership. I have experience with administering oral and dermal medications, maintaining special diets, older cats, and anxious kitties.
I know it can be stressful for kitties when their owner goes away, so I strive to do my best to make them feel as comfortable as possible in their absence. In addition to feeding, I also engage in brushing, petting, cuddling, and playing - whatever makes your cat feels comfy, Ill do it!
I currently have a 10 year old Maine coon mix whom I love dearly. I'd love the opportunity to do the same with you kitties!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
First, I would want to ensure that the sitter feels comfortable with the physical space itself. Are the ok with the parking situation? The layout of the house itself? Locking/unlocking of the doors, etc. Then I'd want to make sure the sitter felt comfortable with the cats themselves. Is the sitter warm and open? Are they comfortable with all cat duties? Do they have the experience level to take care of my cats? Those are most important to me.
Are you usually available during holidays?
My availability is usually wide open during the holiday season! I am available for one a day visits, multiple visits per day, and even overnights!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Work shy or anxious kitties, I let them know Im there for them, and allow them to warm up to me. I'll enter their residence calling their name and continue talking, allowing them to become comfortable with my presence. Ill also sit still, so aren't scared of my movements. For particularly anxious cats, Ill even sit on the floor and allow them to come to.me, if they wish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Silver Spring cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
