What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to bond with each unique cat and offer them comfort and care in their own space! It's rewarding to observe their personalities and routines, whether they're playful and curious or more relaxed and independent. Watching them feel at ease while their owners are away brings a sense of fulfillment, knowing I’m helping them maintain a sense of normalcy and security. It’s a true joy to make their time without their owners stress-free.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Cat wands are a great choice! They’re so interactive and can really engage a cat's natural hunting instincts. Plus, they’re a great way to bond with a cat while giving them the exercise and stimulation they need.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience and gentleness are key, especially since I have a timid and anxious cat myself. I understand the importance of creating a calm and quiet environment where they feel safe. I always allow the cat to approach me at their own pace, avoiding direct eye contact and sudden movements that could cause stress. Speaking softly and giving them space is crucial, as well as providing a hiding spot where they can retreat if they need. Gradually introducing positive experiences, like offering treats or engaging in play, helps build trust over time.

Rachel is a deeply kind and responsible person who would do an excellent job of caring for your cat. She is great at communicating in a timely manner and ensures that you are always updated. The love and care she has for her own cat is apparent and I know that would translate to any cat she is watching. Rachel is also one of the most clean, respectful, and trustworthy people I know, making her and wonderful house/cat sitting guest. She is a great problem solver and is diligent about finding the best solution and communicating her questions when an issue arises. Were I fortunate enough to have a cat, she would be the first person I would call to cat sit.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
