Cat Sitting in Saint Paul, MN

I’ve had cats as pets literally my entire life. I recently lost my two boys a year and a half apart. My baby Grim, before he died at 16 in Jan 2024, we did a lot of medical interventions including radiation and aftercare as well as providing subcutaneous fluids. My chonk, Nero, died at 18 years old in July 2025. He had diabetes for over 7 years and received injections twice a day. I’m comfortable administering medication orally, topically, and via injection. I have good attention to detail and want the best for your pets.

I'm a cat person to the bone and I am truly working as a Meowtel sitter as a way to meet and love on as many cats as possible! I am tolerant of all behavior styles - one of my favorite cats growing up was the crabbiest, most demanding, dare I say MEANEST Siamese ever! - and intuitive to pet needs and when they are "off." I am not squeamish and am very familiar with cleaning up hairballs, food vomit and of course, litterboxes.

My typical visit would include entering the home and locating/greeting all cats in the home - saying hi and petting if they come up for pets right away. Then I refresh water and food, clean litter, and do a walkthrough for any messes. After that, follow whatever instructions regarding the time to spend with them - play, sit and cuddle, chat, enrichment as given - don't worry, I will take plenty of pictures and videos!

I love chilling and giving cats socialization time - lap cats? Yes please! Want to play fetch or chase a feather? I'm there! Infinite tummy rubs? No problem!! Thank you so much for considering!

Learn More About Leah

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have a full-time job with the University of Minnesota, and I do Meowtel for the love of cats and because of my medication niche - it can be so hard to find someone trustworthy for special needs cats. I've been doing Meowtel since May 2025 and I LOVE it. I am particularly skilled with medication administration, including injections, pills, and topical meds. I am professional, attentive, loving, and detail-oriented. My repeats/regulars speak for themselves :) I raised my own cats from 6 weeks old and they lived long and happy lives. I also regularly cat sit for family and friends when they are out of town, and I’ve been doing so for over 10 years.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Do whatever you need to do to feel comfortable leaving your pet and your home with a stranger. Make sure you have all the materials your sitter will need (food, treats, litter, bags). Chatting is good, but writing down the schedule/routine is better. Be very clear regarding what you expect. A lockbox or code is better than giving out keys. Give your sitter the WiFi to ensure on-time communication. It's okay to have additional security measures such as cameras. If the vibes are off at the meet and greet, cancel!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Once booked, we schedule a meet and greet. I let the parents give me a tour, greet the cat(s) if they are willing, review any special needs, feeding quirks, litter boxes etc. Then I get keys or code to the house, discuss WiFi, review booked dates and times to ensure accuracy, and explain that I notify comings and goings to the minute until we have developed a rapport. I always send pictures and I always stay for the full booked time unless otherwise agreed upon.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Most holidays I can be available for at least one visit! On major holidays that I’m available I appreciate flexibility in timing, but if I accept a reservation, I will be visiting!

Leah is fantastic! She was a godsend to our family! When we needed to extend our trip when one of our kids got too sick to travel, she happily lengthened her time with our cats. She was great with our cats too and sent a LOT of pictures of the kitties while we were gone. She even got to pet our old, grumpy kitty by the end of the trip, which is a rare honor bestowed on the few. Our other cat is an asthmatic and she did a great job giving him his inhaler twice per day. I also loved that she sent us pics of the full food bowls and water fountain each trip, as well as a recap of how the cats were doing. I will absolutely be booking Leah again for our next trip.

Leah was amazing!!! My cat is super shy and usually hides under the blankets whenever I have someone watching him, but Leah managed to put him at ease. I was so happy to see him getting some good pets and cuddles while I was away! Even before my cat warmed up to her, Leah sent me pictures every day of where he was hiding and kept me updated the entire time. She even kept my place tidy without me asking! I hope she’s available for all of my future trips!!!

Leah did a wonderful job of taking care of my cats, and she even brought in packages that appeared on the doorstep. I was able to relax and enjoy my trip without worrying because she sent lots of photos every day. I'll be using Meowtel and Leah whenever I go out of town!

Leah was a total pro! We have two older female cats that need to be zoned away from each other and one that needs insulin shots twice a day. We worried the diabetic cat would hide and not get her shots. We had nothing to worry about! Leah's special touch ensured that all shots were given on time. She also sent lots of pics, which was really appreciated. We would book her again in a heartbeat.

It is so nice to have someone like Leah to trust with my cats' care while I'm out of town, especially when I cannot be reached for consultation. Leah was able to troubleshoot autonomously a situation with my diabetic cat such that he remained safe and healthy. She also takes great responsibility for leaving the house and cat supplies in good condition.

Leah did an awesome job caring for our cats while we were gone. My elderly cat is diabetic and I was anxious to leave him for a week, but after meeting Leah during our walk-through and after the pictures and her communication about his food, meds, and injection starting Day 1, I was able to relax and enjoy my time away. The daily updates and pics really put my mind at ease! I also had friends stopping by to socialize with the cats but I loved being able to trust his medical care specifically to a professional.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Saint Paul cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
