Why me?

💊 I'm experienced with cats going through long term health changes. From:
- Diabetes
- Kidney issues
- Felv+
- Special diets + supplements
- Age and anxiety-related issues
- Inhalers, oral medication, injections, subcutaneous fluids
- New medication routines with strict AM/PM windows.
You name it. My own cats had similar struggles. It takes a lot of resilience, heart and patience especially if you're the parent.

❤️ I'm TNR certified, have vet tech student experience and trained at local cat shelters. I'm experienced trapping feral/lost cats.
Special diets are managed. Playtime is highly encouraged! Working with so many types of cats makes sitting so rewarding.

💪 Well-seasoned with driving through NYC, I'm trained with transporting cats to clinics and 24/7 hospitals.
- Trains and Ubers often need more time than using a vehicle on standby. This is especially true on nights or holidays, so it can be incredibly anxiety inducing for everyone involved.
- I make sure no time is wasted if your cat has an emergency, they'll get to the care they need as quickly and safely as possible.

By day, I work in healthcare. I'm grateful to work in cat care which supports graduate-level training + requires the same long-term consistency. I have my bachelor's degree and maintain all vaccinations, including COVID-19.

❗Medication Disclaimer: For safety, a quick meet & greet (virtual or in-person) is required before confirming bookings for cats needing medication.

Learn More About Ren

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Creating a bond with each cat! It's so rewarding when they can smell me and tell that I'm a new buddy. It can start with lots of slow blinking and positive associations. Whether shy, aggressive, or anxious, it's been a great time seeing them soften.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I had a yapper! His name is Chicken. He's a grumpy, white puffy Persian. He's the big ball with gold eyes peering into my soul in the pictures.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Please do chat with the sitter and if possible, schedule a meet & greet beforehand. Share anything they should know like medical history, hiding spots, dosing times, routines, and cleaning preferences. The more context a sitter has, the smoother (and safer) everything goes. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ): Why do a 45 or 60 minute session? - 45 is for the classic, thorough pet sitting experience. If you have any number of cats with medical issues, a longer session is your best option for everyone's peace of mind. - 60 minute sessions: you get everything in the 45, monitoring, and unhurried attention. 💫 A great option if your pets have 2+ medications and diet issues. - 20 minute sessions: only if you have a single cat, no medical issues, no special apartment procedures, need a quick/auto food and litter check, minimal

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure the doors are locked after entry and exit. I follow any directions from you such as latching any cabinets or windows closed before leaving a room. I make sure the pets have access to their cleaned litter box, food and refreshed water!

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I love being in NYC/NJ over the holidays. Last minute requests are welcome. I usually respond within the day. Feel free to send a message.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Laser pointers are great, following by the ones that give out snacks in increments if a cat is feeling snacky. 🐟

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Patience is key. Let them come to you over time, a treat or two has usually gotten the ball rolling but I've worked with feral cats where it's still hard for them to trust people. Consistency helps.

Ren is a fantastic cat-sitter. She is extremely attentive, detail-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond in order to ensure your peace of mind. My cat has epilepsy and requires medication every 12 hours - Ren made sure to adhere to this window of time and sent me a message after each dose was given.

Working with Ren was amazing. It was a last minute booking and over a snowstorm weekend in NY. Inclement weather did not deter Ren from providing out kitties with great care and attention - she provided great detailed reports with pics and videos during her visits, she managed to give Liz her daily pills… everything went smoothly. Plus, Ren is a delightful person to work with. Will definitely book her again in the future!

My experience with Ren was really great! It was my first time using Meowtel and Ren was so helpful from the beginning. Ren was very thorough and kept me updated on my kitty during my whole trip. She was patient when he wouldn’t come out at first and eventually got him to come around! She was willing to help in any way, and sent thorough updates each visit which was very appreciated. It’s always a little nerve racking finding a new sitter to come to your home, but Ren made everything as smooth as possible. We will definitely be using Ren for our future trips to watch our Jeter!

I have a senior cat with bad kidneys and diabetes. He requires sub- q fluids and two insulin shots a day. I was very worried to leave him at home for thanksgiving, but thank goodness I found Ren. Ren went above and beyond to make sure both me and my cat felt comfortable throughout the entire process. I cannot recommend her enough. She completely personalizes the experience and communicates very openly and honestly. This felt like a luxury cat sitting service. She will now be the first person I text when I go out of town.

Ren, was very responsive and attentive while I was away. She gave me an update every step of the way and was very caring towards my cat Laszlo. She was also able to give him his inhaler daily which is not the easiest task.

Ren was fantastic! We had just moved to a new place and our house was still in boxes - she was very adaptable in this unusual situation and took extra efforts to make sure our cats were feeling safe and comfortable post move. She provided detailed updates, gave them lots of play and loving attention, and even vacuumed up their fur and some errant litter. She is also a kind and thoughtful person who clearly knows a lot about caring for cats. We were so grateful for her help and would hire her again in a heartbeat!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Astoria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
