What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been a cat sitter since 2018, primarily as a part-time role while working full-time from home in my corporate job. Over the years, I’ve gained plenty of hands-on experience caring for other people’s cats as well as my own two. I’m comfortable with a wide range of cat personalities, from shy and anxious to outgoing and playful. I’m experienced in following routines, administering medications, providing companionship, and giving updates so pet parents feel confident their cats are happy and safe while they’re away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new pet parent, I like to start with a meet and greet to get to know you and your cat. This helps me understand their routine, personality, and preferences, everything from feeding habits and favorite toys to hiding spots and comfort cues. I’ll ask lots of questions to make sure I know exactly what makes them feel happy and secure. It’s also a great time for a vibe check so your cat can see I’m a friendly, calm presence. My goal is to make both you and your cat feel completely comfortable before the first visit.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For timid or anxious cats, I move slowly, speak softly, and give them plenty of space. I let them approach me when they’re ready, avoid direct eye contact at first, and use calm, reassuring energy. I also stick to their usual routine and favorite spots to help them feel safe and in control. Patience and gentle consistency always help build their confidence over time.

Sarah made my first experience away from Edgar (and his from me) feel safe and comfortable! Lastly, she is trustworthy and thoughtful. I forgot to tell her where to leave my apt. keys - she went above and beyond to notify me, hold on to them for me and hand deliver them to me 3 days later at my convenience.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
