What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting through Meowtel for about 1.5 years. I’m experienced in giving oral medications (solid and liquid) as well as handling anxious/nervous kitties. I’m also quite skilled in handling super playful and “please hold me” kitties!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting new cat parents and cats! It’s fun for me to be able to talk cat-stuff to other cat lovers. I even found a different brand of treats through a client! One client of mine had two floofy main coons which was amazing.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I had a client with two very anxious kitties who hid the majority of the time during a week-long reservation. Towards the end of the reservation, I was able to catch a glimpse of both cats! The one even came out of hiding and stood in the room with me while I was sending an update to their parent. It was a great feeling to see both cats starting to trust me!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two! They’re Onyx and Obsidian. They’re 5 years old and they’re littermates. I adopted them as kittens, so they’ve never spent a single day apart!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new client I like to be as thorough as possible when conducting a meet and greet. This means clearly understanding their expectations when it comes to updates, litter cleaning, feeding, watering, and medication schedules if needed. I also like to reassure them that their kitties are safe in my hands and that I’ll treat their cats as if they’re my own.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I triple-check all locks when I’m leaving and I make sure to do a walk-through of the living space before I leave to make sure there’s nothing out that can injure cats. I do this with my own apartment and cats every day, so it’s second nature for me.

What is your favorite cat toy?

I love wand toys! My Onyx and Obsidian go nuts for them, and I’ve found that they can get shy kitties out of their shells.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

As someone who has an anxious kitty, I let all cats come to me on their own terms when I visit. I let the cat give me as much or as little attention as they wish.

Incredibly, she even was able to get Katniss to come out of her under the bed hiding place for some petting !! Getting that picture from Alyssa in her update was heart warming. Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
