Cat Sitting in Philadelphia, PA

I've been an animal person for as long as I can remember! Ever since college, I've somehow always found myself sharing my life, home, or heart with a cat. These days, I'm happily supervised by my two wonderful fur babies, Raven & Daisy; they have perfected the art of running the household.

Friends and family know me as the person who will happily talk about cats, show you photos of cats, and, most importantly, care for your cats as if they were my own. I genuinely love getting to know each cat's unique personality, whether they're social butterflies, tiny troublemakers, professional nappers, or the type who prefer to admire me from across the room before deciding we're friends.

As a devoted cat parent myself, I know how hard it can be to leave them behind. That's why I treat every visit with the same care, attention, and affection I'd want for my own pets. My goal is simple: to make sure your cat feels safe, comfortable, loved, and thoroughly spoiled while you're away.

Animals have always been my happy place, and there’s nothing better than earning the trust of a cat and becoming part of their inner circle.

Learn More About Kalie

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been unofficially cat sitting for friends, family and roommates for well over a decade. If there’s a cat in the room, I somehow end up becoming its friend. Between caring for my own two cats and plenty of other people’s feline family members, I’ve become well-versed in everything from lap cats to tiny furry CEOs.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Every cat is a new little mystery to solve. I love getting to know their quirks, routines, favorite toys, and preferred nap locations. There’s something incredibly rewarding about earning the trust of a shy cat—or being chosen as the designated lap for the evening!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

While it wasn’t an official booking, one of my favorite recent cat-sitting experiences was caring for my fiancé’s parents’ cats while they were away. I already had a prior relationship with them, but they’ve always been on the shy side. This time, something shifted, once I settled into the desk chair to work, they apparently decided I was acceptable company. Before long, I was getting headbutts, cuddles, and constant feline supervision!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I’m proudly owned by two 7-year-old cats, Raven and Daisy. Raven is a playful black cat who loves pets, toys, and any snack she can convince me to hand over. Daisy is a gray and white sweetheart who’s a little shy at first, but once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll happily become your new best friend who believes every thought should be shared immediately and at full volume.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Schedule a meet-and-greet and trust your instincts. The best cat sitter isn’t just someone your cat tolerates, it’s someone who takes the time to learn their habits, respect their personality, and send enough photos that you don’t spend your whole trip wondering what they’re up to.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My typical process for working with a new cat parent is designed to ensure a smooth, comfortable, and reliable experience for both the cat and owner. I begin by responding to the initial inquiry, confirming availability, and ensuring I’m a good fit based on the cat’s needs and routine. Next, I schedule a brief introduction call and/or house visit to learn about the cat’s personality, daily schedule, medical needs, and the owner’s preferred communication style. Then, I conduct an in-home meet and greet to meet both the owner and cat in their environment and review all care details, including feeding, litter box setup, medications, food storage, and vet information. I take thorough notes to ensure consistency and accuracy. Once care begins, I notify the owner upon arrival and provide regular updates with photos and notes. I also follow up beforehand to confirm details and ensure everything is ready for a stress-free experience.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I carefully review and follow all instructions provided during the home visit and in the pet care profile to ensure each cat receives consistent, personalized care. I also pay close attention to any special household guidelines, such as alarm systems, door locking procedures, or off-limits areas, to ensure the home is respected and secure at all times. If anything is unclear, I ask questions in advance so there is no confusion once care begins. My goal is to follow each instruction exactly as given so the cat’s routine remains stable, their stress is minimized, and the owner has complete peace of mind while they’re away.

Are you usually available during holidays?

’m sometimes available during holidays, but it depends on existing bookings and plans. My availability can vary, so I recommend reaching out with your dates as early as possible. I always keep my calendar updated and will confirm as soon as I can whether I’m available for your requested holiday period.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toys are interactive ones that really engage their natural instincts. The Fish Taco fish toy is a clear favorite - my cats absolutely love it!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I handle timid or anxious cats with patience, consistency, and a calm, low-pressure approach. I never force interaction and always let the cat set the pace. Instead, I focus on creating a quiet, predictable routine so they can feel safe and secure. I move slowly, respect their space, and pay close attention to body language to understand when they want interaction and when they prefer distance. Often, just being present nearby during feeding or routine care helps build trust over time. When appropriate, I may gently use toys or treats to create positive associations, but only if the cat shows interest and comfort. My goal is to reduce stress and build trust gradually, ensuring each cat feels safe, respected, and cared for in their own environment.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Philadelphia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
