I have one black cat named Spyro that I love so much. A friend observed me with the baby angels and thinks they can tell that I adore them. I'm gentle in my approach and let them warm up to me, in one way by bending down to get to their level so they feel more comfortable and less intimidated.

I've been pet-sitting since I was young... Cats are my passion—the animal I love most in this world. As people who know me could tell you, cats make me very happy and I light up whenever I see one. I've been pet-sitting since I was young. A couple years ago, I became a cat care volunteer, and I wish I had started earlier!

Other than that, I work at a pizza place, and have been working there for about 12 years now.

The times of day that work best for me would be afternoons, evenings/nights. Neighborhoods around the Hybla Valley/Mount Vernon/Fort Hunt (22309, 22308, 22307, 22306) areas would be ideal but surrounding zip codes work as well.
I'm free Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons, evenings, and nights, except from about 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every other Thursday.

Cleanliness is very important to me, and I will leave your place looking better than I found it.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have one black cat named Spyro, who I got about 3 and a half years ago. He's around 10 or 11 years old, and I'm obsessed with him. Waiting almost three decades for a cat makes having him all the more special.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am typically available during holidays. But if I’m not, I will make those days unavailable on my calendar/keep calendar updated.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I'm patient with them and let them say hi when they're ready. I sit with them and sometimes sing to get them more comfortable with my presence and voice.

We can't speak highly enough about Danica and the care she provided for our two cats while we were away! She was very accommodating for the meet-and-greet before we left, and we were immediately comfortable entrusting her with our shy, elderly cat and her much younger, curious male counterpart. Danica sent pictures and updates from each visit, including a report of our older cat, who usually hides from strangers, eating a treat from her hand on only the second meeting. Our other cat, who rarely even sits on our laps, was sitting on hers by just the third visit. She went above and beyond, even bringing in a package that was delivered while we were away. She clearly cares about animals, was quickly able to build trust with them, and will be our go-to sitter for any future trip as long as she is available. 100% recommend.

I've requested Danica to watch over Stitch twice this year and she's done a phenomenal job both times. Stitch is normally shy around strangers but he' quickly opened up to Danica during the very first visit. Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
