I'm Emily

Cat Sitting in Seattle, WA

Hi! My name is Emily, and I’m a friendly, caring, and dependable cat lover. I’ve had four cats throughout my life, and one currently lives with me in Seattle. His name is Momo, and he’s a one-year-old domestic shorthair with a mix of white and orange fur. Through caring for Momo, I've gained experience with specialized care, including administering medication and using a nebulizer. I consider him my child, and I absolutely love spoiling him! My personality tends to be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly.

I always make sure your fur babies have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, and plenty of attention. Whether that means playtime or simply keeping them company, I adjust my approach based on each cat’s personality and needs...

Whether that means playtime or simply keeping them company, I adjust my approach based on each cat’s personality and needs. I also make sure to follow the owner’s instructions carefully, whether they involve feeding routines, medication, house rules, treats, or things their cats dislike. When meeting a new cat, I let them sniff my hand before attempting to pet them, giving them time to feel comfortable and approach me at their own pace.

I tend to be a bit of a helicopter parent when it comes to my own cat, haha! If I notice anything unusual about Momo’s behavior, I’ll look into it or contact the vet to make sure everything is okay. Because of this, I pay close attention to even the smallest changes in your fur babies and take their well-being seriously. I’m also more than happy to send pictures, videos, and updates while you’re away. I know how reassuring it is to see how your cats are doing when you’re away from home, and I want to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in caring and reliable hands.

Learn More About Emily

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available during the holidays :) I know how important it is to have a reliable sitter for your cats when you’re out of town visiting family, traveling, or unable to bring your fur babies with you!

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy would have to be a cat wand toy! In my opinion, they tend to be more engaging for cats because it encourages them to play and keeps them entertained.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I always try to make timid or anxious cats feel safe in their own homes. I avoid being loud and crouch down to help them feel more comfortable. I also follow their owners’ schedules to maintain their usual routines. Importantly, I always make sure to respect their personal space and allow them to approach me at their own pace.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
