Hi, I'm Jess and I'd love to spend some time with your cat while you're busy/out of town! I, myself, have had my cat, CATZILLA or Zil for short, for over 12 years and have used cat sitters(good and bad). I'm the type of cat mom/sitter who will send visit update photos, a summary of how the visit went and probably gush, with you, about how cute your cat is! I'd also love to do anything around the house that's needed: standard- clean the litter box(s), feedings, refreshing water; bringing in mail, watering plants, tidying up after the cats, and taking out the trash... I'd love to chat more about the needs of your cat and how to best serve them in your time away!
A little more about me: I'm a pediatric nurse. :) My hobbies include pottery, crocheting, live music, camping, and just about anything outdoors when the sun is shining!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite booking was about 2 weeks long with 1 hour visits each day. She was incredibly shy and didn’t enjoy any petting. Lots of growls at the new person entering her home. I started by doing all my normal duties and then sitting in the room she was in, trying to entertain her with different toys. I think it was day 5 and when I sat down she came over and sat in my lap! Her owner was thrilled and so was I. Everyday from there on we continued our routine :)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I understand the dread of having to leave your cat alone. My goal is to make it as pain free as possible with constant communication of updates so you know your loved one is being well cared for!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I think the initial meeting before a parent leaves the house is important. I like to observe the cat in their home with their people, as well as, learn what works best for your cat. I will usually take some notes to remember different things(food amount, schedule, etc), favorite toys, where they might hide. Just an overall great way to learn more about how best to care for your cat!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
