What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been cat sitting for friends, family and neighbors for many years. I've also been fostering for the past few years. The feral/stray cats that come into my care have had a wide variety of temperaments and health needs, many of whom come to me in rough shape mentally & physically after being out on the mean streets for years. I've worked with feral tomcats, fractious mama cats, and skittish kittens who turn into Edward Scissorhands and socialize them so that they're comfortable with indoor life. As a result, I'm very comfortable handling and caring for any type of cat personality.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have 3 of my own, a spicy gray tabby and two fun loving orange tabbies. One has CKD and IBD where he has to take medication daily, so I'm very familiar with giving oral medication (pill, liquid or transdermal).

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

When I'm looking for a sitter for my cats, I like to go with someone who has experience caring for cats outside of their own because it means they've been around different cat personalities. Meet & greets are complimentary after a reservation is made & accepted. During that meeting, share your cat's routine and any quirks with the sitter. Follow your instincts. If it's not a good fit, you will know. Don't be afraid to say so and you're free to cancel. There's no offense taken! **Please note, I'm unable to cat sit for clients who live north of 145th St at this time.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I follow their lead and let them tell me what they're comfortable with. I don't force interaction, I make sure I'm a comfortable presence going about the drop in to-do's and other activities. I'll try coaxing with some Churu and playing with their favorite toy to entice them to build their trust. I've found that being a calm and gentle presence goes a very long way. I also like to tell the parent to leave clothing with their smells in their kitty's favorite places to provide additional comfort.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

The Meowtel Promise & Satisfaction Guarantee

We are proud to provide each of our independently-contracted Meowtel cat sitters with the full benefits of our Meowtel Promise on eligible reservations. For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
